Can vegans eat jam?!

Question: what about weight watchers blackcurrent jam??

Answers: what about weight watchers blackcurrent jam??

Yes vegans eat jam. Just make sure it contains PECTIN and not gelatin. As for the black current jam, I don't know that particular one.

I am not sure about weightwatchers but Hartleys jam is definately vegan. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Yes I understand you can however you must watch the ingredients used. Some supermarkets do products certified vegan however many jams are not vegan (e.g. jelly from animal colour from insects (cochineal/carmine)).

The link below is from a vegan forum talking about Jam doughnuts however the points raised will help.

these website recipe i found are to do with what vegan eat so i hope this helps!

yes, why not...does it have meat in it?

Yes Jam, Jelly, Preserves are made with fruit pectin not gelatin. When is doubt read the labels.

Slainté (to your health)

I'm not sure about the blackcurrant jam but Hartley's strawberry jam contains pectin and gelling agent i'm sure it's find as long as it doesn't contain any source of meat product and meat in it.Because you vegans are much more stricter than vegetarians and you also sometimes go for non-leather shoes because leather ones are made from cows.

I can't see why a vegan would have a problem with any ingredient in jam. surew isn't it made from fruit and sugar?

Just eat it and stop whining.

Only on Pork.

No, it has animal products in it like gelatin

why woould anybody choose to be a vegan? they mike me sick!

Only if it's toe jam, hehehe.
