Deanna J and Adam T- why do you think that people are starving in this world? becuase the grain that should be feeding them, is feeding the animals you are eating!

infact there are 165 million people that are dying every year, in the world, yet in this country (US) and many other countries, people are fighting to get the weigh off. - do you not see the connection here?

Aleksandra P - if you want to make a difference - her eis where you start go to the following sites and each one will have steps for you to be suppoting on voilence against animals.

Good luck, you can write to me if you have more quesitons.

Why would you want to get rid of big meat industries?
just because you dont eat meat, doesnt mean other people will side with you.
I used to be vegetarian and hated it, mainly because of people always thinking their way is the only way, high and mighty. You have the right to not eat meat, we have the right to eat it.

Instead of trying to do something like that , maybe try relating to people first. If you really want to change things, start at home, because a rally of vegans isnt going to stop a corporation from producing something that makes money. If your against the cruelty to the animals, not to sound mean, but you could be wasting you time, think about all the people who need your help too.

deanna i have to side with you here..the meat industry is hardly going to listen to anyone...and theres very little you can do...u dont see meat eaters sabotaging veg producing factories and protesting outside..thats because we respect others if they want to be vegetarian..why cant you do the same to us??? i suggest you concentrate on saving the poor and starving people of the world before becomming the saviour of animals..thats not sick its simple science, look after your own species first...when the human problems are sorted then we can focus on other species

Quit buying from them. Hit them in their purse.

Even if you are not going to go vegetarian or vegan - buying from a local farmer where you know how the animals are treated is better than going to the local market where they buy from the meat industries that are doing this horrid cruel actions.

Like I said - hit them where their focus is - the money.

Therein lies the problem, other countries. The whackos on here don't have the intestinal fortitude to take on places in China or Korea. You know, where the REAL animal abuse takes place.

Its not the industry that you need to tackle, its the people that insist on driving down the price of meat so there is no cash to spend on animal husbandry,

The meat industry is fueled by one thing only - people buying meat.

If you really feel the need to take action, thats where you should start. There is little you can do to persuade the meat industry to change without persuading people to pay a proper price for meat and create a sustainable industry where there is sufficient money to spend on animals welfare.

Personally, i think you'd be better off spending your time and energy on positive education. Inform people about what you think is wrong with the industry in a POSTIVE manner. Scaring, threatening and shocking them will not have permanent results.

buy organic meat.

change environmental legislations to prevent mass grassing for cattle leaving poor quality meat and desert.....?

Become a vegetarian! You probably think well, then someone else will take the meat I don't eat, but guess what, if everyone thought that, nothing would happen!
Reasons:
1) It's unhealthy for you (vegs live longer & are healthier)
2) It's cruel to have innocent animals crammed into tiny pens going insane and killing each other, finally after all the sufferring being slaughtered and chopped into pieces on conveyor belts jsut so we can have taste that we don't need and are in fact healthier without!
3) Meat is reponsible for a LOT of pollution did you know a kilogram of beef is responsible for MORE greenhouse gas emmisions and other pollution than drinving for three hours while leaving all the lights on back at home

Trust me, for everyone's good, don't remain one of the many, many greedy, stupid people who kill and cause pain for entertainment and comfort.

The only action you can take is not buying the products that come from the meat industries. As long as the meat industries products are approved by the FDA, then there is nothing you can change.

Start by NOT purchasing any product by or related to that group. Does that sound to simple, not enough?
This is why there is now Dolphin safe Tuna in the market place.. Protest by consumers with their money.
If you are not a Veggie this must be for homework. I hope it gets you thinking about your positions in the ways of the world. How you can make things better, starting with YOU!
Are you buying naturally raised organic Beef, Poultry, Eggs, Dairy etc or Wild Caught Fish? If not you are adding to the Big Animal Abuse Industry with every purchase. Actually every bite you take.
Now here is some advice not in your question: Consider becoming a Veggie or Vegan
1) Cuts right into the heart of the "Industries" Makes your own carbon footprint much smaller.
2) Improves your health & future tremendously

Slainté (to your health)

well first i would say start with yourself, if you are not a vegetarian or vegan i dont think people will take you very seriously when you are talking about stopping big meat production. just being involved with organizations like the humane society and being aware of any legislation you can support with letters or phone calls could be helpful. people need to realize that this issue is not about meat eaters respecting vegans/vegetarians rights and vice versa...it is about the animals because they are alive too. when a meat eaters "personal choice" involves the brutal treatment and eventual killing of another being, how in gods name can that be considered a "personal choice". i wouldnt be too happy if it was up to some smuck to decide when i was going to die or not.
