I just started being a vegetarian?!

Question: I just started being a vegetarian. What should I eat to replace meat and fish in my diet? I know nuts but is there anything else? When I eat supper I usually just eat everything but the meat. My parents cannot afford to buy me vegetarian food. After watching a PETA video about how animals are made the sight of meat makes me want to barf. I have only been a vegetarian for a couple days now. I have tried it many time before but this time I am sticking to it after watching that horrible video. I am 13yrs old.

Almonds, black beans, cashews, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, lima beans, peanut butter, pinto beans, seitan, soybeans, soymilk, sunflower seeds, textured vegetable protein (TVP), and tofu.

Veg sources of iron:
Black beans, bran flakes, cashews, Cream of Wheat, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), GrapeNuts, kidney beans, lentils, navy beans, oatmeal, pumpkin seeds, raisins, soybeans, soymilk, spinach, sunflower seeds, tofu, tomato juice, and whole wheat bread.

Research shows that vegetarians are 50 percent less likely to develop heart disease. Vegetarians and vegans live, on average, six to 10 years longer than meat-eaters. Good luck!

Would they be willing to get you boca burgers or any of the other veggie "meat" products? I get my boca burgers at Sam's club. You get a huge box and it costs right around the same as their big bags of beef burgers.
But yes, nuts, beans, tofu, peanut butter, etc. are great for protein. Make sure to get plenty of fruits and veggies too.

you can have alot of grains and beans and that will give you more protein and iron. bean and grains are very cheap.

go to http://www.vegetariantimes.com - you will find lots of easy and cheap vegetarina foods your family will love.

It is not expensive to make vegetarian foods, and what you could is, ask your parents if they can make more main course vegetarian foods, and you in return can help them them make it.

Beans, nuts, avacadoes, whole grains, and flax seed are all good veg sources for protien, fats, and minerals you'd normally get from meat. Dairy is a decent source for protien and fat too and eggs are great if you aren't going vegan.

I have been a vegetarian all my life my mom makes me eat beans and different kinds of nuts egg yolks are good too. my doctor says i am healthier then a eating regular

The answers below and really fantastic.
I'm not a vegetarian anymore, but I don't necesarily eat meat.
I talked to a pharmacists and he told me to take Once A Day vitamins to help make sure I got all the vitamins I needed.
I also drink protein shakes (don't worry, you can get them in flavours that aren't discusting).
So I'd ask your parents to take you either to a doctor, or to a pharmacist and have them with you when you talk to the pharmacist/doctor so they can help you pick the right supplements to take.

Beans are prolly the best, cheapest protien source in veggie land.

But, as humans, we are geared to eat meat since we only have one stomach and sharp teeth.

I read a study on people that lived to be over 100 and the only common link they all shared was meat eating.

I hunt and fish, mostly fish, and do all I can to be humane as possible. With fish I figure we're doth doing the same thing; they go after my lure because they think it's a fish to eat.

I love seitan. You can make it yourself quite easily.
