MANY, if not most gums are NOT safe for vegans/vegetarians. I e-mail companies when I'm not sure. I've e-mailed Wrigleys, and I believe their Extra spearmint is a safe one. They will absolutely e-mail you back and tell you which ones are veg friendly. Beware, as I said, many, if not most gums have animal by-products in them...it's not even listed....just says "gum base", etc.

Yeah you can chew gum. The person who told you this knows nothing. sorry.

Well I think it is. I googled it, and I found a type of gum that is certified vegan:

http://www.gleegum.com/

However I have never tried it and I don't know if it is good or not, or where to get it.

Good job on trying to become vegan!

Yes you can chew gum. To my knowledge there are no animal by-products in gum. There are a lot of chemicals in it though and artificial sweeteners and probably not too healthy. I know, I love gum and it keeps me from smoking cigarettes, so I guess you have to chose your poison. I prefer my artificial gum to cigarettes anytime.

Yes, of course you wouldn't get the kinds that have gelatin or milk in them.

I personally think that you as a person decided what is vegan and not but obviously obtaining from products that come from an animal, but if there is something that has 2% or less honey or something i find myself still eating it. That however is my choice but I don't think that makes me not a vegan. Every little thing helps.

Gum is fine. You can do it. Stay strong... Good luck!!! =D

YES YOU CAN! You can have most gums like Orbitz, Stride, Wrigleys, etc. But you should stay away from icebreakers because they have a milk ingredient and shellac

Yes you can, just read labels on things, there is gelatin which vegetarians can not eat so maybe thats what people are thinking of.
Oh and being vegan is not hard at all, if your not born into it after a while just being cautious of what you eat becomes second nature!
Good luck.

Yes you can :) I'm a vegan I chew Gum all the time. Whoever told you that was err Going crazy xP

of course.

If the gum is vegan

Yes you can chew gum. Whats the problem with gum? Your being ridiculous.
