Advice for people who are thinking of going Vegetarian?!

Question: As everyone knows, I've been vegetarian for 10 years now.

And if you are considering 'taking the plunge', I say go for it! Veggies are hot

Its compassionate, no doubt about it.

Its caring. It's ANIMAL friendly. Its fun, veggie food is delicious!

To love animals, it takes guts.
Guts to stand up for what you KNOW to be right.

If you love animals, but STILL eat meat, you are a hypocrite.

Be a sexy beast! Be confident, Go Veg!!

Lots of love,
scottie xXx :-)

(to meat eaters)Sorry, but I don't think our bodies are "made" to eat meat. I think your goverment is telling you that. And that's because they are involved in animal agriculture. It's not healthy at all for you, the animal or the environment. If you don't care about the animals how about the people? Like others said you can feed more people rather than livestock. Do you care if we have clean water? Or do you just care about yourself and what your tastebuds want? So you get a few minutes of satisfaction for all the damage it does. I really don't think anyone has a valid argument for eating meat. You're just selfish. You want what you want and you don't care who or what gets hurt to get it. I have friends who eat meat, I still like them but I think it's a bad choice on their part. My opinion.

Hahaha I like I like

you just said it all
this is my best effort for a best answer

Of the 20 million tons of plant protein given to raise cows only 2 million tons of protein are used. That means 18 tons of plant protein are wasted! The 20 million tons of plant protein could have reduced 90% of the world's yearly protein deficit for humans.
>Being a vegetarian would alleviate human starvation and in return there would be an increase in growth of wild animals without additonal sufferings on humans or any other animals.

>By choosing the vegetarian or vegan alternative, the land used originally for farm animals would feed more people off of plant protein.

>Plants yield 10 times more protein per acre than meat.

>Chickens are raised in crowded, unnatural enviroments. There are usually 3,000 or more in one pen. The birds are not able to move about freely or even spread their wings due to the over crowding. They use "nests" made out of metal and they are bred by unnatural means.

>In order for hens to lay mass amounts of eggs, artificial light is on 17 hours a day. Each hen averages about 300 eggs per year. Once a hen's egg prodution declines they are slaughtered. Most hens live an average of 5 to 6 years.

>Veal calfs are raised in cages on an anemic diet. The cages are so small that the calves cannot stand or even move in order to clean themselves. The veal calves are kept in the dark most of their lives within the cages. They are subjected to a cruel and horrid death.

>More than 7 billion animals die yearly for human consumption.

Who is this question for, you? Cuz you're already veggie

I've been a vegatarian since birth.
Apart from cat food.
And that was once.

I was five, alright?

And I don't get the 'fish' thing. How is fish not a meat? It's an animal, no?

Hey, don't call me names! I'm not a hypocrite! I love animals...some for cuddling with, some for eating! We were made to be omnivores, and I'm going to continue eating meat.

I have the utmost respect for those of you who have the conviction to make this change based on your beliefs. But I do wish you'd have respect for the rest of us who are simply following the diet our bodies were made for. :( I don't call you names, and would appreciate it if you'd avoid calling me names.

hahaha yea!!! ive been a veggetarian for a year now!!!! its amazing ill never go back..

I definitely agree with you but it might not be a good idea to use the word hypocrite to describe people that continue to eat meat despite loving animals. It might be repelling instead of inviting other people to change their lifestyle because they may feel attacked......

all this veggie power is great. but listen if we really want to make a difference, we need to get into business and main stream and stop the stereotypes!

so think of a great way to promote your beliefs!

I have an idea I am working on, and i hope when i make money fom it, I can rescue mother cows and give them a place to live with their babies!

so get out there and make this happen. make it more of a accepted thing!

i'm a vegetarian but i think your mean.
just because someone eats meat doesn't make them a hypocrite!

I already am one for almost a yr now!!

This questions gunna get deleted tho cuz its not a question..
mine always do!! ughh yahoos too strict

You are right, I just became a vegetarian 4 days ago, an I have never made a better decision in my life! I am so happy with this choice. Just the thought of slaughterhouses and the poor animals that die there compelled me to go veg.! yes, i am new to this, but i am going to make this last!! I love being a veg!!!

Being veg or vegan is great. but I don't know if I would call *ALL* omni's n meat eater hypocrite, I'm sure you have family, friends and loved one who eat meat. I bet you don't consider them hypocrites.

lol i am starting to be one but I wanna go as a full vegan its kinda tough though but I'm working on

if you can give me some advice on avoiding temptation that would be great
I'm the only vegetarian and hopefully-soon- to- be vegan in my family so yea its hard

i was a vegitarian. but i dont eat fish or yogurt or a whole bunch of other stuff and nearly starved from 9 months of that. i dont really espeically like animals, so sorry you cant change my mind.
