I'm a lactose intolerant vegetarian who's allergic to eggs... going vegan?!

Question: The question title explains a lot. I eat no meat/animal products or eggs at this point, but do consume milk products (yogurt, cheese, ice cream, eggless baked goods) with a lactaid tablet, although I already drink soy milk. Well, I can't imagine taking lactaid all the time is super healthy. So, I have decided to go vegan. Anyone have any tips or tasty recipes for a new vegan?

Thanks!

Vegans don't eat, wear, or use any animal products. It goes further than just diet. Read the labels of your consumables (beauty products, cleaning supplies, shower stuff, etc.) for animal ingredients. Familiarize yourself with companies that test on animals http://www.caringconsumer.com and don't buy their products.

Congrats and good luck on your vegan journey!! :)

For nutritional info, "Becoming Vegan" by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina is indispensible.

For tasty recipes, you NEED "Vegan with a Vengeance" and "Veganomicon" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz. You'll never miss dairy with so much good food to choose from! You'll find some of her recipes (and lots of good tips in the "kitchen" section of the forum) here: http://www.theppk.com/

There are a lot of vegan resources on the internet, however my favourite for recipes is: http://www.vegweb.com
Vegweb contains a large database of recipes, but it's best feature is the ability to rate and comment on recipes and read other's comments and suggestions.

There is also a forum with a large, supportive community.

Congratulations on becoming vegan, you've thrown your lot in with a great community.

And, WholeSoy makes the best soy yoghurt.
