Ovo-Lacto - Eats Eggs & Dairy. Does not eat any kind of meat, including cow, pig, fish, turkey, chicken, deer, rabbit, etc. Usually will not eat Gelatin, will try to avoid animal rennet and carmine as well.

Lacto - eats dairy, but no eggs

Ovo - eats eggs, but no dairy

Vegan - eats no animal products. No honey, milk, eggs, etc. Often will not wear animal products as well - leather, silk, wool.

Some people use a Flexitarian or Pescetarian label - but these are not vegetarians. Period. Any consumption of animal flesh automatically removed them from being vegetarian.

There are also things like Fruitarians - they eat only plants that are the fruit of something. They do not eat anything that kills the plant. They would eat apples, oranges, tomatoes, zucchini, but not lettuce, cabbage, carrots, or asparagus.

There are lacto-ovo vegetarians (use dairy and eggs), lacto-vegetarians (use dairy); ovo-vegetarians (use eggs) and vegans (use no animal or animal bi-products). I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to find out but if you do a search on vegetarians on google for example, there are many good sites.

Here is one web site.

hm well ive been a vegetarian for a year now. and im an ovo-lacto vegitarian (which means i wont eat meat, but i will eat eggs and dairy products). other types of vegitarians are semi-vegetarians, vegans, fruitarians and raw/living foodists. you can find out all about these 5 types if you go to this website: http://www.theveggietable.com/articles/w... i think this website will tell you just about every thing you need to know about vegetarians. ^_^ good luck with the health project.

only one type - ill-looking

flexitarians as they like to call themselves and semi-vegetarians are NOT any form of vegetarian. these people eat meat. vegetarians do not eat meat. plain adn simple, they are no form of vegetarian then.

and um, david what are you talking about?!
