Vanilla is the best for first-timers if you are just drinking it or using it for cereals or baking desserts.

Plain soymilk is slightly salty to me and so it is very good for baking breads, making cream soups, etc.

Many people have said that they enjoy the Silk or White Wave brand but if you are vegan for ethical/animal reasons, you should know that Silk is owned by Dean Foods, America's largest supplier of cow's milk. It may be wise to buy generic store brands or something else, if you so choose.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I always have vanilla soy milk at home. I prefer that to the plain with oatmeal or breakfast cereal, but it obviously wouldn't work if you were trying to make something that isn't supposed to be sweet.

Vanilla. Plain soy milk tastes like tofu. I like tofu but not in liquid form.

definently vanilla

Vanilla - absolutely and then you can try the plain but mix a little of the vanilla in it. I like the plain just fine now but if given a choice I go for the rice milk it has a nice toasty taste and is better for cereal. Good Luck!

I think that plain is better to get used to but dont drink it first. Have some on cereal...that is how I got used to it.

I've tried both and think that the silk vanilla soy milk is the best.

Most people who are not veg but enjoy it say vanilla on their cereal. I prefer the plain. I'm also one of the rare one who enjoy the beany or nutty taste of boxed milks. ::shrug::

Really though, if you drink it plain, try chocolate or eggnog flavor ::drool::

Well, my personal favorite is chocolate, but vanilla is good too. I find the plain too, well, plain! In cooking and baking however, I use plain, or even rice milk instead of soy milk (a little easier on my stomach).

I have a friend who used to not even like the thought of soy milk, and then she tried chocolate soy milk and has some everyday. Since then, her parents have been buying plain soy milk for her to drink at her house, but she never likes it (which is why she is always at my house drinking my vanilla soy milk)
I personally grew up on soy milk, and I still find the plain milk disgusting unless it is in something that does not go well with vanilla.
I don't know anyone who prefers plain soy milk to vanilla or chocolate, no matter how long they have been drinking soy milk.

Try out different brands of soymilk and other "milks" to find ones you like.

I like the Silk plain soymilk for cooking and the Silk vanilla for drinking. Almond Breeze brand almond milk chocolate flavor is also delicious for a sweet treat.
