When I was trying to eat healthier, I stopped bringing crappy foods into the house. If they weren't there, I couldn't eat them.

Even now, I RARELY have candy, ice cream, or potato chips in the house.

If your parents insist on buying these things, ask them to keep what they can locked away somewhere.

If not, then you'll need more willpower. And, eat them in moderation. Instead of 8 candy bars, grab one and then put the rest away someplace far from where you will be. Do something to take your mind off of it so that you won't focus on it. For chips, count out 1 serving and then put the bag back. You get the idea.

As far as being Vegan - no kid with meateating parents has it easy. I recommend searching through past questions and getting some ideas on how to cope with it. The question is asked at least once a day, everyday, so there are plenty of good responses out there that you may find helpful.

GL 2 U!

start of by not buying ANY junk food, AT ALL!!!! it worked for me, but my mom was really supportive

well, you cant stop cold turkey.... try this- eliminate things that are unhealthy from your household one at a time- maybe one a week.... like one week stop getting or eating potatoe chips.... etc. Try to resist these things... to do this try a rward system- if you dont eat a lot of junk food, go out to eat at a HEALTHY restaurant or something- or buy yourself something.... Antoehr key thisnk is to VARY your diet- start eating more healthy thinks like baked chips, organic cereals, more FRUIT AND VEGGIES!! stuff like that- this is more important because by doing this you will slowly push out the bad snacks in your diet- you will naturally go fo carrot sticks rather that potato chips. Remember here that the goal is to be healthy, not to lose (or gain) weight!! Good, luck,.contact me for more information- health expert here!!

Tell your family what you want to do.Then maybe they'll join in and everyone will eat healthy!

For most people, eliminating junk food from their diet altogether is unreasonable. To minimalize how much junk food you eat, try to think of eating it as a reward for something you did. For instance, only eat that candy bar after you exercise for 20 minutes. That way, you don't you feel guilty for eating it.

I used to have that same problem. I would eat good meals (for breakfast, lunch, dinner) but in between then, I would just snack on junk. I wouldn't be hungry at all but just wanted to munch on something. Your exercsing idea looks good so keep it up on that, but for the food, i told my mom about my junk food problem. She helped me out by not buying any junk food. If she did buy some, she would hide it from me. lol What I do also, is I chew gum to trick myself. (it works great!) also, just keep yourself busy so you don't have to think about food. Just eat well-balanced meals and if you ever have a snack, have a fruit or veggie. Reward yourself by having a treat once a week. (just don't have a big treat lol)
best of luck to you and I hope I helped!?

If you think you could binge on foods you love, don't have them around or buy them. Think b4 U bite. It's your body and you only have one so take care of it. when going shopping stay in the produce section. which will help lots.

Instead of giving up junk food just eat less of it by replacing junk foods such as mini cookies with veggies and dip, lower sodium all natural tortilla chips and guacamole, fruits and veggies. Also if you want to eat something not so healthy eat it for or with breakfast so that later you can exercise it off. Also as far as becoming a vegan create like a phase plan where you reduce certain meats then eat no meat but eggs and milk then eat vegan so that the change is easier on your parents. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned already, but when you do stop eating junk food, make sure not to totally give it all up at once. If you have a craving, have a little, otherwise you'll end up totally binging. Besides, popcorn can be healthy! Good Luck!

As a snack substitute I eat mixed nuts, fiber cereals & fruits which is healthier. Eat similar foods for breakfast and for lunch
eat vegetable salads with either fish or beans for protein and limit the amount of starch (bread, potato,etc.). For Dinner, limit
the amount you eat if you don't plan to exercise after dinner. For exercise, walk a total of 30 minutes daily. As a Daily reminder I tell myself "I shouldn't eat Junk Foods" which helps me stay focused!
