Vegans?.....?!

Question: Suppose I cloned a bacterial B12-producing gene into a common plant (like wheat or potatoes), thus giving you an incentive to stop taking B12 supplements. Would you support the venture?

That's hysterical. YOUR lifestyle is the one that's nutrient deficient. I've never had to take supplements of any kind, neither have my two vegan siblings and our 3 vegan children. We've "mysteriously" always been in perfect health. Guess we're just statistical anomolies, huh? Have fun being willfully ignorant! :P

  • Sure! Anyway to get more B12 is cool with me, even though im not sure how I would feel about the cloned or genetically enginered plant you would create. But I havent found getting enough of it really to be a problem, I just eat ceral and soy milk that is fortified with it!

nope I wouldn't eat anything cloned we just don't know enough about effects short or long term.

    no - cloning sux

I am not for the genetic modification of foods and, besides, I get a ton of B12 as it is. It's very possible that if there was B12 if other food sources, it may cause damage to health in large quantities.

The idea is great but it reminds me of the tactics that companies like Monsanto and Dow tend to move toward, which is very bad.

I don't use supplements, prefer organic, and try and avoid GM food. But sounds like a good idea in theory.

    No,too disgusting,cloning!
