Why did you choose to be a vegetarian?!
Answers: i'm not vegetarian and i don't comprehende vegetarian people...i know differnt reasons to be vegetarian or vegan (like love for animals) but eat meat is very very very important for own health!
A partial boycott of beef fed with corn (steer are supposed to eat grass)
Health
Animal cruelty
Efficiency of calories vs. vitamins/minerals in my diet
its good being vegetarian because you don't kill other animals,, animals have their own lives to live and hurting other animals for your own good is just selfish.. fruits n vegetables don't have those cells that can feel so it dosent matter if u them them because they r made to eat anyway
Animal cruelty is really my #1 reason. The health benefits are a big consideration as well.
Well you have 2 morality issues covered, for me I am a diabetic, celiac sensative and needed to lose 50 lbs for health reasons, as a former chef I had been cooking vegetarian options for years in the places I worked, I also enjoy a range of ethnic foods too.
So it was a smooth transition, I call myself a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but do only use egg substitutes and very little dairy product (mostly yougart, some hard cheeses and canned milks), I enjoy making mains with a variety of veg, tofu, TVP, seitan, Tempeh and other meat alternatives, and do a range of Asian, Latin,Caribbean and European style dishes.
to avoid "mad cow", steroids, and antobiotics as much as possible
For the animals, envorinment, and my health.
lol its funny how almost every1 said health...hate to tell you crisps and chocolate or both veggie food and they aint very healthy...heres and example..u eat veggies..but pig out on chocolate and crisps...i eat veg and lean meat with no chocolate or crisps...whos gonna be healthyier...me...just cuz u go veggie doesnt mean it will make your health better.
whats even better is i get thumbs down for telling the truth about the health myths while others that lie about it get thumbs up....you lot cant be that well educated if you like one sided lies to suit your purpose rather than hear a blatant truth...if i said a lie to favour us omnivores you would be all over me saying a made it up..then one of you do it and get applauded.
i turned vegetarian due to animal rights and iam a strict vegeterian and i don't anything made from animals so i don't eat diary products either
Because of animal cruelty, and what not.
It's unethical for me to eat other animals.
I made the choice because meat and fats started to upset my stomach after starting on a particular medication.
I have been one off and on for over 30 years - but looks like this time there will be no more 'off' period.
Because I care about animals.
I feel that animals are treated wrongly. I feel people and animals are equal in many respects. I would not eat a person, therefore I would not eat an animal. Are you a cannibal? Also tons of people do it to be healthy but they are the cheaters who eat fish.
I did it for the ultra cool title.
I choose not to be a vegitatian. I need to eat beef, pork, and poultry
I chose to be a vegetarian (actually, a vegan) a long time ago because I realized that I felt better overall when I ate vegetable-based foods. If I sensed that I felt "off," I knew that a salad (not just greens, but loaded with fresh veggies!) would "set me right."
I am no longer a vegetarian, but I still prefer vegetable-based foods. Veggies just make me feel better!
