How much do vegans weigh in general?!

Question: It obviously depends on the vegan. A lot of them are healthy and probably very slim, but many can still be overweight.

If they eat a mainly natural unprocessed diet, they would be slim, but if they eat lots of vegetarian fake meat "products" they could be less slim. It would also depend on what drinks they had.

I think that book "skinnybitch" is pretty much about eating a vegan diet and losing weight, I haven't read it but have looked inside it.

This report says a vegetarians are slimmer:

This article shows that while 40% of meateaters are overweight, only 25% of vegetarians are. Also says that vegan is best at the bottom of the article.

There's a lot of links around the web of women who are vegan and still not skinny (though not obese) but become very slender when switching to a raw food diet:

Confucius say....If you ask stupid questions, you will get stupid answers.

You'd have to take a bunch of vegans, weigh each one, and then add up all their weights. Divide that by the number of vegans you weighed. This is the AVERAGE weight of a vegan.

healthy vegans would probably weight as close to their ideal weight.

Because really vegan foods take out many fatty and unhealthy foods. - many junk foods, of course no fast food! so thats plus!

Like everyone else, vegans come in a range of weights. Just because something is vegan, it doesn't mean that it's necessarily good for you. There are plenty of empty-calorie vegan choices out there. As a vegan, I try to stick with more nutrient-dense food choices like fruits and vegetables. I'm concerned more with health than with weight.

I don't see why people have to be rude when answering questions, no question is a stupid question.

It varies, there is no way to give u an average weight cause although I've heard that vegans do weigh less the non vegans, I don't believe that. I have seen vegans off all sizes, to real skinny to really fat. No matter if u are vegan or not u are still going to be eating and your weight will depend on how much u eat and what types of food you eat. Its really no different from a non vegan diet. I am vegan and I weigh 128, and I actually weighed about 10lbs less when I wasn't vegan. But I can't help it being vegan just taste so good. :-)

I have heard that on average vegetarians weigh about 10 percent less than there carnivorous counterparts.

Here is one link to a comprehensive study that shows vegetarian women on average weigh less than those women who ate meat.

http://www.medicineonline.com/news/12/85...

"The study of more than 55,000 Swedish women found that those who identified themselves as vegetarian or vegan tended to weigh less than meat-eaters, and were less likely to be overweight or obese.

The vegetarian group included women who ate no meat, fish or eggs but did consume dairy products (lactovegetarians), as well as "semivegetarians," who said they sometimes ate fish or eggs. Vegans eat no animal products, including dairy.

In the study, self-proclaimed vegans were two-thirds less likely than meat-eaters to be overweight or obese, while the two vegetarian groups were about half as likely as meat-eaters to be overweight."

i guess it depends on the vegan. i'm vegan and i weigh 112 lbs.

vegans weigh on average weigh 20 lbs less then carnivores.

89.3 Lbs. men.

89.9 Lbs. women
