Do you have a recipe for a vegan syrup sponge pudding?!
Answers: I need one that doesn't use egg replacement or a microwave. Ta!!!
make a suet sponge using vegetarian suet.
8oz self-raising flour sifted
4oz vegetarian suet
2oz sugar
soya milk or water
Mix all dry ingredients. Add liquid until mixture reaches soft dropping stage. Place syrup in greased pudding basin and pour the mixture in - cover top with greased foil with a pleat in the middle and steam for 2 hours.
You can also use the same basic mix for baked jam-roly poly.
Just add less liquid, so mix is soft, but firm enough to roll out, spread warmed jam (or syrup) to within 1cm of edge - roll up loosley and pinch the ends, place on a greased baking sheet, brush with soya milk, sprinkle with a little brown sugar and bake for 40 - 50 mins at 200 - delicious!!

I USE GOLDEN SYRUP OR BRANDY SYRUP IF YOU CANT GET THESE SYRUP ORDINARY JAM IS JUST AS GOOD.
