Is soy milk healthier than cows milk?!
Answers: and why? I love the taste of vanilla soy milk and how it doesn't leave a pastie feeling in the back of my throat but am wondering if its as healthy as cows milk. please help.
Soy milk is way healthier than animals milk for humans to drink. It is healthier because it is more natural, because it contains no animal pumped hormones, pus, or blood. It is healthier because it does not the vast amount of health problems that animal's milk does to humans. It is healthier because it comes from soybeans and soybeans has many great health benefits. Also animals milk is hard to digest in humans, so is hard on your digestive system. Soy milk also contains a lot less fat, calories, and no cholesterol, with higher sources of nutrients - even more fortified! Not only is it healthier for you to drink soy milk versus cows milk it is better for the animals and the environment. There are many milk alternatives besides soy milk; you should try them all, and all the brands to see which you like best! Hemp, rice, almond, and oat milk are the other main non-animal/non-human plant milks out there to try. It is best not to rely too much on any food though, even soy.
it has more health benefits because it comes from a natural source not an animal
Yes a lot....except there are two thing that are not.
1. In rats it seems to lower testosterone.
2. there is a mineral(or something) in the milk that actually stops the absorption of other minerals and vitamins.
Though then again...Cows milk gives you moobs(man boobs) because of the horomones in the milk.
yes because, have originated in China,[1] a region where soybean was native and used as food long before the existence of written records. The earliest written record comes from Liu An using it as a medicine, and a later record of the drink as a medicine could be found in Bencao Gangmu.[2] Later on, the soybean and soybean foods were transplanted to Japan. Soybean milk is reputed to have been discovered and developed by Liu An of the Han Dynasty in China about 164 BC. Liu An is also credited with the development of "Doufu" (soybean curd) in China which 900 years later spread to Japan where it is known as "tofu".
Traditional soy milk, a stable emulsion of oil, water and protein, is simply an aqueous extract of whole soybeans. The liquid is produced by soaking dry soybeans, and grinding them with water. Soy milk contains about the same proportion of protein as cow's milk~ around 3.5%; also 2% fat, 2.9% carbohydrate and 0.5% ash. Soy milk can be made at home with traditional kitchen tools or with a soy milk machine.
Yes, bc cow's milk is pumped full of hormones and antibiotics, and the average lifespan of a cow is 20 years, but dairy cows only live about 4, bc of dairy factory farm conditions. See the documentary "Earthlings."
yes, it is healthier, and it has more protein!
In large amounts, soy can quicken brain-aging and increase headaches and migraines. And most cow's milk has hormones, cholesterol, [more] fat and calories, etc. So, it depends on your opinion, really- what you think is worse. Besides, not all cow's milk has hormones. If you're lucky, you can find some organic milk. I would alternate between soymilk and milk.
Of course it is!
the health benifits of soy are impressive. i'ts a good source of protien, cholestoral-free and low in saturated fat, with 25 percent of the daily recommended value of Vitamin D. Soymilk not only may help reduce the risk of osteoporosis but, as past of a low-fat diet, it also may help prevent heart desiese. And it's lactose-free!!! :)
In my opinion, it is. It is less fat, calories, and less cholesterol. It has the same amount, if not more vitamins and minerals in it also. I love plain soy milk with cereal. I hate cow milk, plain. (But I like it in food, which Im trying to give up)
It is healthier because it is easier to digest for one thing. Cows milk is very hard to digest (even if you don't think so) because it leaves a large, curd in your stomach that your digestive system has to work hours to digest. We are the only animals that never quit nursing. We are also the only animals that drink milk from a different species (cats do drink milk but they shouldn't either). Soy milk, rice milk, nut milks are all great sources of calcium and protein. I'm with you...love that Vanilla soy!
yes!
No, cows milk is MUCH more healthier then soy milk. Soy milk is very unhealthy for you. Its bean grease in liquid form.
I would think so--even if you get the organic cows' milk, you're still drinking a product intended to grow a 90-pound calf into a 2,000-pound cow in about two years. If you're concerned about soy milk, you could use rice milk or nut milk or do a mixture of soy milk with another plant milk.
no, it is not healthier...it is pumping you with estrogen and drinking it at normal, unregulated rates, gives you far too much of this hormone. That alters your thinking and actions over time
