Food for a Vegetarian...?!
Just lately i've been noticing i don't eat very substancial meals. My mum wishes i eat normally because she doesn't like spending extra money on food. I know i need to eat SOMETHING but when i get into the shopping centre i don't know where to start !
I basically live off rice & pasta. Raw veggies and fruit. I've asked people about what else i can eat but all they can say is "salad?" I cannot express how sick i am of salad. I'm not a rabbit !
So, any ideas?
Ps: As i don't like the taste of meat, I'm not interested in Vegetarian Sausages. Or anything that is basically designed for people that like meat but can't/aren't eating it. Vegetarian food that looks like meat or is in the shape of meat.
Answers: I've been a Vege ever since i can remember. I don't eat meat because i don't like the TASTE. I'm not sure if fish is considered as meat but i don't eat it either.

This is what I eat to get the protein:
nuts (peanuts,almonds,pistachois,peanut butter, ect.)
beans( pinto beans, black eyed peas, ect.)
hummus (you can get this at any grocry store)
eggs( boiled,fried,scrambled, omlette, ect)
protein shakes(vanilla,cookies and cream, chocolate,ect)
protein bars ..........
and so much more
Eat bananas.
meat is good for you though

But salad is yummy. come on you gotta love it!
You can pretty much get anything nowadays for a vegetarian. Like Lasagnes, Bolognaise, pizza, vegetable curry, most have a replacement with soy meat. Go and buy a vegetarian cook book, they are all over books stores nowadays.
yeah im a vegitarian too and i dont really like the taste of meat BUT i like bocca burgers, they dont really taste like meat to me but they are really good! i also find myself eating alot of cheese. i eat normal things but without meat (i e cheese pizza, enchiladas and whatnot )
You are already eating a natural diet. I am sure you are sick of eating salads but, you need it! I munch on celery sticks and Almond butter. Or Sunflower seed butter. Very tasty. You can make rice pudding using brown rice, almond or rice milk, raisins, a dash of cinnamon and some honey to taste. Warm it on the stove. (Never microwave food, it kills it) for a treat, you can add a dash of organic unsweetened cocoa. (I try and get as much organic food as I possibly can) Limit your use of soy. It disrupts hormone levels. Do some research on that one. I ended up with thyroid problems big time because I ate soy for a long time and lots of it.
Any ideas? There are loads of meat replacements, every shopping mall has everything vegetarian need. And what are you talking about you bored. Maybe you are a person like to complain about everything. Seriously every sort of dish can be made without meat. If you put some brain and read more cooking / recipe books or don't be lazy to google it. You can use nuts.. pulses.. eggs.. and etc... to makes all sorts of thing.

You see! I am a vegitarian.Thats why i say that eating veg food is less energetic.
The balanced diet for a vegitarian is like this.
Break fast: wheat porridge/pan cake bread.Eat with some Jam or veg curry.
Lunch: you can add a big spoon ful or two. With either cooked pulses or with soya been nuggets boiled and cooked with vegitables.Finish your lunch with yoghurt.
You can aet raw or boiled vegitables at night and a gladd of milk.Suppliment with fruits if you like further.
You will see the difference. Please write back to me when you feel energetic and feel fantastik.
Some times you can eat dry fruits and ground nut soaked in water for 4 hours when you feel hungry in the evenings or in break fast.It will act like nectar.
