Does Being a Vegetarian make you loose weight?!
Answers: Statistically, vegetarians are more likely to maintain a healthy body weight than meat eaters. Statistics don't say anything about individuals, though. Whether or not *you* would lose weight by going vegetarian depends on whether or not you'd reduce your caloric intake by doing so. Weight loss is a pretty simple formula: burn more calories than you consume.
Not necessarily. A lot of times vegetarians tend to eat more pastas and breads which will cause weight gain.
Not necessarily.
calories in < calories used = weight loss
calories in < calories used = weight gain
...and it doesn't matter where that calorie comes from.
Vegetarians and vegans especially have lower rates of overweight and obesity as a population, but vegetarianism isn't a "weight loss diet."
It depends on what kind of food choices you make. You can gain weight on a vegetarian diet if you only eat things like macaroni and cheese, doritos, french fries, and pizza!
I'm a vegetarian and I'm very peite it depends on what you eat though really because I know some ppl that are vegan and they are over weight...I eat when I'm hungry and eat slowly (because your body takes up to 20 minutes to realize its full sometimes) I also hydrate myself really well because they did this study that I read about that a lot of ppls thirst mechanism on themselves is so weak that they mistaken it for hunger...
I lost a lot of weight very slowly over a period of years after cutitng out meat, but I think this was because I was thinking about my diet more and being more healthy.
I'm not as cynical as the other answerers. I think being vegetarian will make you lose weight. I agree that there are scenarios where you could eat all bad food, and not lose a thing. But, most vegetarians try to eat vegetables, and those help you lose weight.
Generally vegetarians weigh less than meat eaters, but you can still be overweight on a vegetarian diet if you eat the wrong things.
Too much processed, fried foods can make you fat, even if you don't eat meat. Most vegetarians tend to eat more natural food though, so they generally weigh less than a meateater with the same lifestyle (work and exercise ).
Several years ago I had a medical for my job and I was told I was the right weight for my age, which in my profession (IT) was unusual as many people are overweight.
This report says a vegetarians are slimmer:

The book "Skinnybitch" is about being vegan to lose weight, to give you another opinion.
no
If you eat a balanced and healthy diet as a vegetarian, it is easier to maintain a healthy weight because plant based proteins, fruits and vegetables are lower in calories, higher in fibre, and have more nutrients than most meats. You have more energy and that makes it easier and more desirable to get exercise. However, in all diets, meat included or not, the best way to loose weight is to watch your portion sizes, eat plenty of vegetables and fruits, and be active. A balanced diet with little to no junk foods is really critical.
That depends on the vegetarian. It they are continuing to eat animal products like dairy, then they can fall into the trap of eating lots of high calorie foods. Incidentally most vegans I've met who totally avoid all animal products are relatively slim. Carbs don't make you fat, it's what you put on them, like salt and butter. Vegetables and fruits don't make you fat either. It's when you load them with salt and sugar and added fats like salad dressing that the calories start going up.
Not really as I was eating more pasta, bread and potatoes and was eating more egg and cheeses.
A vegan diet will make you lose weight
Not me. I've been on and off being a vegetarian since high school. Right now I am not. When I went vegetarian, I didn't gain weight but didn't loose. However now that meat is back in my diet I've gained between 25 and 30 pounds.
Being a vegetarian doesn't always mean that you've resorted to fresh produce the rest of your life (although it would make for an extremely healthy diet). You can still eat to many dough-nuts, drink to much beer, eat to many eggs smothered in cheese, get your calories worth of a meal in Pepsi then eat a high calorie meal. I mean if you get my point then think about it.
I am sure doing the vegetarian diet carefullyy with some planning and carefull thought to how to do it healthy can be one part of an equation to loose weight!
Good luck! When you've succeeded please let me know what worked for you!
nope.
eat meat.
No try cutting out sugar and salt of your diet and start eating more fruits, nuts and etc
