Plants have life,so vegetarians are killing the plants for food,what do they have to say about this?!
if bore a small hole into a tree....sap comes out and this is the tree bleeding, if it carries on the tree can die....and for the idiot that said u take a veggie of a plant and next day theres another...i hate to tell you but if u had a plant like that it would solve world hunger. so if plants die when they are picked....then they die just as animals do...the questions was plants die and yet you complain about animals and i have seen plenty of ignorant people say..."i dont want to end anythings life just so i can eat" well when u pick a carroot another doesnt grow back as you take the plant...therefore it is dieing for you to eat.

Plants dont have brains - and I'm sorry but I have to eat something to survive, and anyway they have matured fully and are near death when you eat them.

Plants do feel pain, or fear. They do not cry (as pigs) when they sense they are about to die. They do not recoil in pain if you poke them with a hot poker. Im so tired of hearing meat eaters say this nonsense. We know they do not feel pain from a thing called science. They do not have a central nervous system, or pain receptors, or a brain for that matter. A brain would be needed for them to feel the desire to stay alive.

If u pluck the vegetagles from a plant the the next day u find another another on them, its just like nails and hair of ours. The more we cut them the more it grows but in case of animals- if we ut them once they die!!! Well i myself love non-veg!

Whilst plants may have feelings - since like all living things, they have energy fields - you can't actually hear them scream in pain at having their stalks cut (unlike cows, pigs, sheep, etc ........having their throats cut)
Nor are they cruelly treated.

Given that humans HAVE to eat, surely it is better that they eat forms of food obtained from non-cruel sources.

Plants don't have a nervous system so they don't feel pain. You cant compare "killing" a plant to the brutal slaughter of a sentient conscious animal. Its NOT the same thing.
its too bad to kill the trees they are usefull to us in many waysif you find anyone killing a tree you tell them that to plant 5 trees and then kill one tree means 5 tree will grow and one kill will be killed 1 with 5 OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we can be happy it is the God's gift we must not distroy them

The idea is that we eat nothing with a central nervous system, so plants are OK. There is no evidence that we are causing suffering to this non sentient form of life.
Fruitarians get round this one by only eating the part of the fruit that is not needed for the plant to carry on living - the idea being that the seeds are discarded and have a chance to germinate - but I am not sure if fruitarians are doing it for that reason.

Of course the plants feel pain. You know, that is the purpose of being vegan, to reach the Level 5, where you do not eat anything which casts a shadow (to not to disturb its wellbeing).

It is just such a silly question. Even Albert Schweitzer (the philosopher and famous human rights activist) could not answer this. But he presumed it is certainly proven that ANIMALS do feel pain, and so he went vegetarian.

mostly plats r not killed... they r eaten after their life is over... like... take an example of rice.. when the plats of rice r dry.. they r thrashed and the rice grains are collected.... its a seasonal plant... and then the trees... like those which have fruits.. they r not cut down to be eaten.... only the fruits are taken off..... and so is done with many vegetables.... there is another hidden cause for being veggy... if u r realy intrested.. u may ask me......

This means they cannot think, feel pain, have emotions, etc, etc...it is IMPOSSIBLE for anything to be aware of any of these feelings without a brain to process it.. IT has been shown that plants give off chemical responses to certain stimuli, but that is a FAR cry from sentient "feelings" Plants do NOT feel, they CAN'T.. NO BRAIN!! No CNS..
Animals have brain and CNS.. so they experience all these things..

The term "living" is very relative. Plants may technically be alive, but its a completely separate realm from the life a human or animal lives. Vegetation has no mental processes and no reaction to emotional stimuli, such as family or friends. Plants are biologically alive but don't have the capacity to experience pain or suffering that people and animals do. Thus, there's no real reason to feel badly about eating plants.
