Is glycerin from animal sources?Thank you?!

Question: I'm vegerarian. I want to know the source of glycerin.

Answers: I'm vegerarian. I want to know the source of glycerin.

Like the others have said, it could be from animal or vegetable sources. Look for vegetable glycerin on the label, but if you don't want to reject a product because it just says glycerin, call or e-mail the company. You'll know for sure that way.

Not always. Vegetable-derived glycerine is used in vegan soaps and many other products.

If a product is made with vegetable glygerine, it will likely be labeled as such.

A by-product of soap and candle making, glycerine can be derived from both animal and vegetable fats.

If a label just says "glycerine" it is probably an animal derived product. Look for "vegetable glycerine" on labels.
