Are there any vegetarians out there that get really grossed out when sitting next to someone eating meat?!

Question: In all honesty, I get grossed out around anything that was once conscious and is now dead - I find it even worse to see people eating it.
Of course, I put up with it - but if it's around family, I'll usually do the catering so they don't have a choice.

no but I can't stand people around me with their smelly seafood... ugh that stinks!

Yes, and there are carnivores who get grossed out in the company of flatulent vegetarians.

nope, just as long as they don't get it closed to me. I have had people wave meat in front of my face as a "joke"....not funny

yeah, i see them ripping that poor animal limb from limb and i get very uncomfortable..

No not really, other people can eat what ever they want. I just don't want to see the meat being prepared. I personally think seeing it in raw form is way more gross.

I'm wondering if there are any meat eaters out there who get really grossed out when sitting next to someone who thinks they are better than everyone else?

I think it depends on the person. Just like one person may be disgusted that the French eat snails! It is natural to develop dislike meat after abstaining from it for a long period of time. Being in the presence of someone who is eating meat shouldn't bother someone too much, as it is that person's decsion to eat the meat. Just like obese people pounding that cheese cake at your favorite restaurant.

No, I'm typically fine about it. I grew up eating meat, all my loved ones eat meat, I'm the odd one out now as a vegan. Actually, my brother makes faces when he sees me eat tofu but wouldn't blink twice if he saw someone tearing apart a rack of ribs. I think it's usually gross only if someone is being super sloppy about it, with juice and sauce dribbling all over and moaning in delight over it... I am not even kidding you, I sat behind some people in the movie theater once who sneaked in ribs to eat as a "snack"... they were making so much noise, it totally ruined the movie for me (it was Titanic!). That was what I would call gross.

yes quite often and if I see people picking away at large fish also next to me.

I try not to show it as im usually the only vegetarian at the table

Why would a vegetarian be grossed out? IT's a CHOICE to eat meat, or not.
Would you ask if an "omnivore", or "carnivore", get grossed out sitting next to a vegetarian eating vegetables? Food is food!! Eat well, live well.

Well that depends on if they are chewing with their mouths closed or not. Bad manners make me sick.

Yes. It doesn't always happen, but when the meat is particularly rare or it just smells a lot for some reason it makes me gag a little. I just don't see it as an enjoyable thing to eat anymore.

I try to suppress that, though, in order to polite to the people I'm eating with.

I get a little grossed out when they eat the meat right of the bone and then start gnawing on the bone.... it seems kind of barbaric to me.

I used to but not anymore, unless it is smells strong. The smell of beef, in particular, can be very nauseating.
