Is Roly Poly Pudding considered a vegan dish?!
Answers: I was offered some of this by my neighbor, Mr Samuel Whiskers. I am normally a strict Juicitarian, but I though maybe I could make an exception just this once... I have been looking for an opportunity to bury the hatchet with my neighbor since the whole owl barbeque incident, but I don;t know if he is just trying to trick me into eating meat. He claims it is just butter and dough, I told him to make it with vegan butter substituet nd I would have some. what do you think? should I accept Samuel Whisker's invitation to eat Roly Poly Pudding?
Don't do it. He told me at the pub he was trying to get you and Anna Maria for a 3-some.
Yes! Without a doubt, you should try something new! Who knows, it might be yummy?
Just make sure that your digestive system can handle it first though.
You ARE talking about the Beatrix Potter story, right?
It's either cute or insulting, I'm not sure which.
I love Roly Poly Pudding. I think you should have some... YUM!!! =0)
LOL funny question...
Should I accept Samuel Whisker's invitation to eat Roly Poly Pudding?
NO, but I think you should urgently see your doctor in regards to getting your medication increased or decreased.
Beatrix Potter personally gave me the recipe for Roly Poly Pudding and it contains suet.
Suet is animal fat – so no, not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
To anyone else who is interested, Roly Poly Pudding (served with custard) is really delicious:
340g (12oz) Plain Flour
170g (6oz) Suet finely chopped
2 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
Water to mix
Jam
Sift together the flour and baking powder, add the suet and salt.
Mix with sufficient water to make a soft, but firm, dough.
Roll it into a rectangle about ?" thick.
Spread with jam almost to the edge.
Damp the edges and roll up lightly.
Seal the edges.
Wrap the pudding in a scalded well-floured cloth and tie the ends.
Place into a large saucepan of fast boiling water.
Simmer for 2 to 2? hours.
Turn out and serve hot with custard
Serves 6.
(p.s. - please make sure you see your doctor about that medication, as you appear to be as "madly deranged as a March hare"!)
