Make sure of what?

Haven't you noticed? Various vegetarian groups just make up what every they want now and give it a name! Do whatever you want! To me, the very idea of vegetarianism is flawed from the beginning if the reason for choosing that lifestyle is to avoid killing animals since we ARE naturally omnivores. No other animal on the planet questions its place on the food chain. Then, to further convolute it by concluding that SOME animals can be eaten because we find them less sentient or CUTE drives the notion from naivete to hypocrisy. Then we're saying-- the more an animal is like us, the less it deserves being killed.

So, in the end, the answer is-- what's stopping you from eating what you want? If various vegetarian groups simply make up whatever suites them, why not eat what you want? Gee-- I think I want to be a porksushionly-etarian today! I only eat vegetables, pork and sushi! Aren't I great?

Eat any combination of any foods you want and give it some whacky name, but don't kid yourself that you're actually living up to some higher standard or cause. All you're doing is giving yourself the warm fuzzies.

umm.. some do and some dont but most dont my cousin is one and she doesnt eat any seafoods.. but i think some do.

if you want to
because you can

thats called a pescetarian.

true vegetarians eat no meat from any animal
pesco vegetarians will eat seafood
lacto vegetarians will eat dairy products
ovo vegetarians will eat eggs
vegans do not have any animal products in their lives at all

A lot of people call themselves vegetarian inaccurately, in that what they really mean is that they don't eat meat in the traditional sense.

Those who avoid meat due to ethical reasons will often still eat fish because (with some exceptions) fish are not as intensively reared as livestock and generally have a natural life swimming in open seas before they are caught. Some fish, though, including salmon, trout, and some kinds of shellfish, are now farmed so it's not all good news for veggies who eat fish.

Its okay to eat what you want, but don;t call yourself a vegetarian if you eat any type of animal.
Vegetarians don't eat any type of meat, vegans the same and no dairy produce.
At the moment you are a carnivore

A true vegetarian... No.
Seafood is part of the animal kingdom. In other words, you're eating meat.

Sounds like you know you're eating meat, but why do you/did you still call yourself a vegetarian?

It just doesn't make sense that there are some many exceptions to being a vegetarian...

pescatarian = a vegetarian that eats seafood.

So can I be a
porcine-atarian? A vegetarian that only eats pork?
bovine-atarian? A vegetarian that only eats beef?

It just doesn't make sense to call yourself a vegetarian if you eat any kind of meat.

No vegetarians do not eat any kind of meat. Fish are animals not plants. Fish is meat.

Vegetarians don't eat sea creatures because they are animals. Check out http://fishinghurts.com/ for more info.

a vegetarian who eats fish/seafood is a pescatarian. You can eat seafood and still technically be a vegetarian (or so the arguement goes) because fish/seafood isn't technically meat. An arguement against pescatarianism being considered vegetarianism is that fish are animals, and vegetarians don't eat animals, or that fish is in fact meat.

Hope this helps!
(I tried to stay neutral and put both sides of the arguement, as for some veggies the debate can get pretty intense!!)

Can Veqatarians Eat Seafood?

While they can eat whatever they choose, eating animal flesh is NOT vegetarian.

Yes, "vegetarians" do.

Vegetarians don't eat animals.

No. Fish is meat, it is flesh, the dead body of an animal.

It doesn't grow on trees.

If you want to eat fish, you ain't a vegetarian. You are technically a pescetarian (dunno how to spell that).

Yes. Many vegetarians eat seafood. Enjoy.
