Yes. I would still be vegetarian.
The factory farm industry is killing both US and this PLANET.
It takes 22 pounds of grain and 5200 gallons of water to produce ONE pound of edible beef. That's enough grain and water for an entire home for a month. All for one man's dinner. It's just wrong.
It would help to know that the animals were treated respectfully. But there are many reasons (health, taste and environment) that I don't eat meat, in addition to my concern for animal welfare, so yes I probably still would be.
Thank you for asking!
My main reason is for animal abuse issues, I would eat halal meat (that which is treated properly).
I'm a vegetarian because I just don't want to eat past living things..
No I will never eat another animal ever. Animal cruelty and their treatment is just ONE reason for being veg or vegan. There are lots more. But the main reason I still wouldn't eat them is because they are entitled to live their life, it's not fair for us to take it away.
not all animals that are butchered are treated badly. If a person wanted to eat meat but not the badly treated animal kind, all they have to do is go to a farm, check it out and buy direct.
the method in which they are being killed does not in any way change the fact that theyre being murdered when they don't have to be.
would you be okay with us killing you as long as we were nice to you first? i don't think so
not all people are vegetarian because of animal treatment. alot of people think its healthier.
I don't think so. I think only if it becomes a practical concern in the way of a vitamin deficiency or something will I have to eat selected meat/meat products again but otherwise, no.
I've found after a couple of months of being vegetarian, there's alot of restaurants I still go and don't even think about it as a problem any more.
Almost any diner or restaurant will have bagels or vegetables or something for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
i'm a vegetarian cause i animals are treated badly,
but honestly, if i knew for a fact they were being killed
as humanely as possible, yes i would eat meat again.
except pork, i don't eat pork, i havent in years & i never ever will.
no, bcuz your still not giving the animal their rights. the right to choose if they are going to live or die, to have their family taken away from them
animals are treated the same way slaves were treated
i hope i answered ur Q rite! : )
I just don't like the taste or texture of meat and thought that it used to be alive
One of the main reasons I don't eat meat is because of the cruelty of animals...but then you have to consider the hormones they are given as well. Not too healthy...
personally, i would't. here's the thing....
people say they kill the animals so they dont get overpopulated, but the only reason they would be over populated was because those idiots are giving them hormones to reproduce more quickly, so they can kill more quickly to meet the rising demand for meat. they wouldnt have to do all that if people just left them alone. it's called a food chain. If they just let nature run its course, there would be no need to kill and eat them.
I probably wouldn't stop being a vegetarian. Initially, I started this whole insanity because of the animal cruelty that occurs constantly. However, after I stopped eating meat, I started feeling so much better. I had more energy, I was happier, I felt healthier. And even if the animal was treated with respect, it's still dead. So, I mean, it's kinda crazy to think that if it's humane to kill, than it's okay.
YES!!!!!!!!!
yes, i would still be a vegetarian! it's more of a lifstyle chOice than animal cruelty..healthier and happier lifestyle..Redmeat is BAD for ur health!
I would still be a vegetarian because meat isn't necessary and it's kind of gross to consume an animals muscle. You can buy free ranged meat now that's 'humane' but an animal still dies just so someone can temporarily feel full, and that, to me, is selfish.
Plus it's much better for the environment. With all the grain used to feed one animal that can feed a few people you could feed tons of starving people.
I probably would go back to vegetarian rather than vegan if the treated the cows and chickens better. because they live horrible lives just for milk and eggs
yes i would
(animals were put on the planet to be eaten but not treated the way they are.)
When I first became a vegetarian, I probably would have said that I would eat meat again if the animals were treated right....but after being a vegetarian for a year, the thought of meat repulses me, plus, killing animals for food when it's not necessary is still inhumane, and honestly I've never been in better shape and I've never been so healthy...Also, factory farming kills the environment too and I don't support that.
I can only speak for myself, and I'll be as honest as possible:
Would it be okay for you to be butchered for food, even after you've lived a short happy life? Would those years of freedom excuse your murder? Would the reflection of the life you lived alleviate the complete and utter terror at the moment of your death?
For the ethical veg*n, the answer is simple: no.
Every animal, no matter how primitive his nervous system, instinctively values his own life just as much as you value your own. And that alone is enough to earn my compassion and respect.
I don't care how "happy" the meat is. It's still tainted with voilence, and no way would I eat it.
I think it's the same question as "if you would eat it if it's already dead" ... It's not just a matter of cruelty, but a matter of life.
Thanks for asking ^^
I was thinking about this last night. When native Americans were around they killed and animal and used everything from that animal. Skin for warmth, bones for tools etc. If that was the situation it might be different, but with the state of the world AND population it's just not right anymore. We wouldn't use all of the animal and there are SO many people on the earth that more animals would be killed than should be. I think we've evolved past that point.
