Is soy really bad for you?!
Unless you are allergic to it, soy products are very good for you! Soy SAUCE is, however, not so hot, because it is very high in salt. A low sodium soy sauce is better.
Soy beans are magical things if you ask me. They are packed with nutrition and a great food for vegetarians and vegans as they pack tons of good, healthy protein without making you eat an animal.
Most soy products will contain excellent nutrition and are a great addition to any diet. Processed soy products should be watched for added content. If there is sodium added, it can be a bit harmful.
If you want an idea about the qualities of soy, consider Japan. Japanese tend to have longer life spans and a low rate of cancer. They also eat a very soy heavy diet. And I am not just being a jerk or touting that, Ive lived in Japan for years. Its true, the Japanese diet is chock full of soy and they have great longevity. Lots of studies have related the two!

Here is a quote from the Mayo Clinic regarding soy. You might want to read it before you try to eat soy. Is soy good for you? It all depends on the individual person.
"Soy allergy affects approximately 1 percent of people in the United States. Soy, also called soya, is among the top eight most common foods that trigger allergies in children. In many cases soy allergy starts with a reaction to a soy-based infant formula. Although most children outgrow soy allergy by age 3, soy allergy may persist and is becoming more common in adults.
In most cases signs and symptoms of soy allergy are mild. Severe allergic reactions are more common with other food allergens than with soy, but in rare cases, soy allergy can cause a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Deaths linked to soy allergy have occurred in people who also had both severe peanut allergy and asthma. You can reduce your risk of having an allergic reaction to soy by knowing as much as you can about soy allergy and how to avoid soy-containing products.
If you — or your child — have a reaction to soy, tell your doctor about it, no matter how mild the reaction may have been. Tests can help confirm a soy allergy, so you can take steps to avoid future and potentially worse reactions."

no, it is good for you. it is a great source of protein and has isoflavones that are also good for you. what did you think was bad?
I love soy, but it hates me... but for everyone else, its good for them
I can't remember the whole story, but I read recently that soy is produced with some undesirable ingredients for our health. I would do a search to check this out...it really seems a shame, after all these years of people raving about it...
no soy is not bad for you at all...its a great source of protein..
no, if you eat alot of it, then yeah it is. but that goes for everything, too much of one thing is bad. studies on soy that say its bad for us is because they studied people who eat it ALL DAY LONG. eating pinto beans excessively all day is harmful to.
its the meat industry and the government saying its bad. they want our money for meat.
Most soy has been genetically modified, meaning its no longer a natural food-and yes, its bad for you. If you could FIND non GMO soy, it does offer a good source of protein and vitamins, but finding "clean" soy is next to impossible. For more info on what GMO means, google "roundup ready" soy. GMO foods have been spliced with the DNA from all sorts of things, such as scorpion venom to make the crops more pest resistant, and DNA from other plant species-making those with food allergies more likely to develop further allergies by eating genetically modified food.
No not at all! Soy products are actually very healthy for you as long as you're not allergic to them.
It's only bad for you if you have an allergy.
There is a lot of misinformation about soy these days, just like the misinformation about carbs being bad for everybody that we heard a few years ago. In a few more years it will be something else.
If it's rotten, it might start to be bad for you.
Yes, it is. It'll poison your system. Ugh. It tastes nasty, too.
