Have you read the book "Skinny B-itc-h"?!
Answers: What did you think about it?
Yes I've read it and I hated it.
First of all, I hated all the b.itc.h talk - the kind of language my generation of feminists fought to stop men using against women..
I also took exception to its tone, I kept thinking 'just who the ****do you think you're talking to?' - the authors treat the reader like an idiot who just might learn something if they read on and try to keep up.
That aside, I'm concerned by its premise; its claim is that as long as you're vegan, you'll lose weight. This is NOT true; even if you avoid junk food, a vegan diet will not necessarily cause you to lose weight.
I'm also concerned by the amount of mock meats, cheeses etc (ie processed food) they recommend; their menus would have you eating it every single day. While it's fine occasionally, it's not particularly healthy. Having sneaked a look at the recipe book, Skinny B.it.ch in the Kitch, it seems to me a majority of the recipes call for faux meat or cheese too.
And I find some of their sources dubious. Their thinking seems to be 'if it's in a book, it must be true'.
I have been vegetarian most of my life, and vegan for 12 years, but in my opinion a balanced diet containing a little meat is healthier than the diet this book proposes.
And they mislead in their claim that the diet will prevent cancer - vegans get cancer too.
i thought it was funny
My girlfriend read it. She loved it and found it very informative, they use lots of studies to back up their statements.
The basic message of the book is "go vegetarian"
Her mom followed recipe, already ate healthy, and lost 15 pounds, she wasn't even fat beforehand so I'm guessing that following it works.
Hope that helps.
i read the first couple chapters and it was amazinnnn
everything they say is so true and right, and being a ***** about it made everything stick in my head better.
No...
But I know one!
:D
lol
Yes'r
Read it and loved it.
Read it a second time too.
I highly recommend it.
=)
I read the Skinny ***** book.
It was very easy for me because I was already a Vegetarian slwoly going Vegan, but I loved how they kind of summed everything up.
Plus their options are really healthy.
And yes, they know what they are talking about.
Very good book, but only if you are not one of those 'we need to eat everything that moves' kind of people, because I'm afraid that even the true true slaughterhouse stories will touch them enough.
It's a great book for anyone wanting to lose weight, go Veg, or wants some truth.
NO
My sister read it and loved it.
No. I do not read pornography.
