You answered the question right there. Cupcakes and cookies.

And to the genius below: When the h** did chicken become vegan? It's not even vegetarian, much less vegan.

Speak with professionals about this if you are serious. Otherwise, you may recieve the wrong information from one of us. good luck :)

could be that your personal body needs some of the foods you have eliminated. each persons body reacts to foods differently.

Never confuse "its vegan" for "its healthy". Vegan foods, particularly deserts, can still be chock full of fats and calories.

If one is serious about losing weight as a vegan, see the works by Dr. Ornish and/or Dr. MacDougal. Increase dietary fiber, cut with vegetable broth instead of olive oil, keep refined sugars to a minimum. The weight drops off remarkably fast.

this kindas happened to me. - about 6 pounds.

I was so happy to make the transition, that I went a little bit over broad on the vegan cooking. Making vegan this and vegan that! well, it soon added up!

But now that I am over the "newness of being a vegan", I am not constantly eating vegan goodies!

I got carried away, but now have limited my vegan foods!

you could do the same, good luck!

Because vegan sweets and processed foods have just as much fat, sugar and calories. I lost weight at first and then began to gain weight. I love to bake and made vegan muffins, cookies and cakes. Also, I love pasta with vegan butter, spices and veggies. The problem is I also like big portions.

So, stick with whole foods as your major source of nutrition and indulge in vegan goodies occasionally. And make sure you exercise.

Did you know that the Amish eat more calories than the average American but are healthier? It's because they eat whole foods and exercise daily.

you should cut out all the sweets and start exercising.

Because, like anyone else who gains weight, you're consuming more calories than you burn.

p.s. You can't gain 8 pounds of fat in one day.

You probably had too much processed foods. It's better to eat natural foods in their natural state, or as close to their natural state as possible.

Steamed vegetables, and a chicken breast is healthier than eating a lot of vegan muffins.

just because you are a vegan doesn't mean you cannot consume too many calories. watch the fats and sugars, and your overall calorie intake
