Answers: Please answer suggestions without meat.

Get some vegetarian cold cuts. I keep a bunch at my fiancee's house because quick vegetarian food is hard to come by there.

hummus, mmm, with pita bread

peanut butter and banana, tomato and mayo , tuna fish, marshmallow fluff , cheese , lettuce , tomato and mayo
Gary Dominicus

do you eat cheese? a cucumber, tomato, and avacado sandwich with fresh mozerella or feta cheese with dill. yum! :)

What about making a grilled cheese sandwich or a salad wrap?

How about hummus and cucumber on wheat bread or a pita. Or avacado and vegetables (lettuce, cucumber, carrots, red bell pepper).

Funa (fake tuna)

Get some TVP (texturized veggie protein) and heat it in a small pan of water with a slip of seaweed called Kombu. This will give the TVP a slight fishy taste.

Drain the TVP and add vegennaise and capers. You can also shred the Kombu for extra flavor.

Fegg (fake egg) Salad

take half a tub of medium tofu. Smoosh it up with some turmeric (makes it yellow) and nutritional yeast. Add some vegennaise and capers.

How about avocado and sprouts?

How about a Fakon Lettus and Tomato sandwhich using tempeh bacon?

I love lettuce and tomato sandwiches with a vinegar and oil style dressing on it. Or sometimes I also add veganaise. It's really only good if you have a thick, french style bread or some other kind of yummy chewy bread, but not on the kind of bread you would use for pb&j.

Have fun on your field trip!

Vegemite and lettuce, on wholegrain bread, is delicious.

You could use sandwich spread.....that's pretty good.
There are different kinds of sandwich spread, on the market.
Or, you could use peanut butter. That's also pretty good.

Here's what my kids love.

Ciabatta bread (or any good quality bread)
Veganaise mayo
Tofurkey (optional)
Sprouts
lettuce
tomato
avocado

A good tip to keep the bread from getting soggy is to pack the tomato and avocado separate and add when ready to eat.
