Are organic foods higher in calories than their "regular" counterparts?!

Question: A friend told me this and it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I can see them being more nutrient rich and higher in fiber.

They also don't have fillers, which is added calories. Many have no added sugar which makes a big difference. But really, it depends on what it is. An organic chocolate bar might be more fattening because it's made with high quality cream, or something.

My dad is a chef- and i just asked and he said "No"

Not that I could find, higher nutrients yes because they are not saturated with pesticides, which destroy nutrients. I just read this organic baby food recipe book and lest just say I REALLY want to go all organic, knowing now what just is done to uor non-organic food supply, YIKES!!!

no, thier just isnt harmful pesticides in the food your eating.

They could be, but not necessarily. Just because a food is organic doesn't mean it has less calories, fat, or salt--it's just made with ingredients that have not been genetically modified or given any steroids/growth hormones. Even with a higher calorie content, it's better to eat organic since you are not ingesting questionable chemicals and additives used by the food industry.

Nope. they are grown using different management and have more nutrients because organic farms don't kill their soils with chemical fertilizers. But more calories, I don't think so.
