Vegetarians and meat eater debate?!
Let me tell you this, its simple:
I chose a vegetarian diet.
You chose your diet.
You can eat whatever you want. I can aswell.
I have NO PROBLEMS with meat eaters, so DON'T categorize me as a hater of meat eaters.
Why is it such an issue? Let's all just get along and accept each other, we are all unique right?
Thanks,

I think if this was just a debate about health benefits then people wouldn't get so emotional. But its much more than that. I think that for most vegans, while health is one reason they switch since we tend to believe it is healthier, an even more important reason is the harm that the meat and dairy industries are inflicting on other animals and the environment. It would be one thing if we actually needed meat and dairy to survive, but we don't so all this harm occurs simply because society is unwilling to change.
For more information on the environmental damage just google the report 'Livestocks Long Shadow'
For a sample of the harm inflicted on other animals check out the clips on youtube for the documentary called 'Earthlings'
When you truly come to appreciate the kind of damage these industries are inflicting on other animals and our environment, its really hard to just accept other peoples 'right' to inflict such pain and suffering on other animals and our environment.
By the way, I don't hate meat eaters either. Pretty much all my friends and family members are meat eaters. I just don't understand why they continue to support an industry that causes so much pain, suffering and environmental damage.
Vegans and vegetarians are against the torture and slaughter of animals. No, we are not going to just let it alone. If it was only about what they ate, fine. Eat whatever disgusting junk you want. But it isnt. It's about the animals, who for the record can feel as much as humans can, while plants CANNOT.
I dont think people really care about what you eat, from what ive seen and heard vegaterians are generally anti hunting and when your as passionate about hunting as I am it seems to come off as a personal attack,
okay...this is going into more of a discrimination issue...which is stupid and should NOT exist, but i have no problems with vegetarians or ANYone for that matter. im actually thinking of becoming a vegetarian because it's just unbelievable how animals are treated today...and it may be for the best to not eat meat...but that goes with this whole world. i am currently not eating meat and i feel fine. there are other ways to be provided with protein. however, im also cutting back on junk. diets and all this stuff is just self CHOICE and OPINION. but i agree we should all get along and accept one another. I WANT WORLD PEACE!
Your very right. I'm glad you brought up this topic.
I don't like when people are attacked for their way of life, in such a way that the animals are more loved then the people who love animals and eat them. I think it is unfair to say that someone doesn't love animals if they eat meat. I love animals, but not like I love people. People are more important, whether they eat meat or not.
I agree.
It all boils down to stereotypes and hearsay. I am VERY tolerant of meat-eaters... if I wasn't, then I would have "preached" to my parents, my other family members, my friends, etc. And I know plenty of meat-eaters who are very accepting of vegetarians.
In my own experience, however, I have been teased countless of times by co-workers and friends for living a life free of animal foods. Still, that would not be fair if I categorized them into one group.
But there's always a bad seed within every group, and I think that's what starts the stereotypes. Because there are *some* vegetarians who feel the need to tell everyone they are vegetarian and slam meat-eaters for their meat-eating ways, the rest of us get labeled as hippy tree-huggin' animal worshipping freaks. And the same goes the other way around.
Love and acceptance, people. Why can't we all just get along? ;)
Plants have feelings too. I had a peony that was heartbroken every time I left
I am a meat eater and I do not have a problem with any bodies diet. I have a massive problem with the PETA type rabid anti meateaters. Animals are not on the par with humans as to thoughts and desires for the future. They are food for those higher on the food chain. The lies that are spread by those types are very irritating to me and only serve to antagonize.
I'm not sure why there are problems. I think alot of meat eaters become confrontational about it because they are then forced to look at their own eating habits and realize that they are contributing to the murder of animals, it makes them insecure and makes them face reality.
What kind of question is this? It is more of statement. By the way you lost points for statement and not a question? Pen*d*ejo
