For people who are for animal rights, i have a question about makeup brushes?!
Again not trying to make enemies here but i love my brushes and there the only ones that outlast anything fake that i have ever bought, i was just curious, thank you!
I have horse, goat, and badger. They sell mink but there way to expensive for me lol
Answers: Hi, im not trying to make enemies here, but i wanted to know what people who are for animal rights think about professional makeup brushes? It is my understanding, well from the company that i buy, that the animals that that brushes come from, are not killed and are "free range". they have the cruelty free logo slapped over the site anyway. They wait for the animals to shed and then they make the brushes. Has there ever been any company that does not follow this? I have a licence and u can only buy if u are a pro from the company, so i cannot post a link up unless u have a licence but i was just wondering.

I think you can use whatever you want. Why would it matter to you what others think about your choices? If you're okay with it, then you're okay with it.

That's a good question. Sable and mink brushes are products of the fur industry, so they are definitely NOT cruelty-free. (I'm guessing badger fur is also a product of the fur industry, but couldn't find much online about this). Horse hair is often obtained from horses who are slaughtered for their flesh. Companies often like to gloss over the fact that their products involve cruelty to animals. It simply is not economical to have a small group of animals and wait around for them to shed fur, when the millions of animals killed on fur farms and slaughterhouses are creating plenty of inexpensive hairs.

Hope this helps. Thanks for investigating this issue and not taking the company's claims at face value.
