Are there any meat companies that do not use inhumane slaughtering?!

Question: i am a strong supporter of PETA, but i do still love meat. I know companies like Kosher use some of the worst slaughtering i know of, and i want to know if there is any brand that is not so inhumane.

I love animals too! But I still eat meat. I am a type-o blood type- the caveman type, and am healthiest when eating plenty of animal protein. Maybe you are a type-o too, and that is why you crave meat. There's nothing wrong with that. Animals have been a source of nourishment since the beginning of time! If they weren't supposed to be killed for food, they would be able to defend themselves. Unfortunately, this world has taken it upon itself to turn animals into slaves and abuse them in order to make money.

That said,

You have to find a local, organic free-range farm in your area. The cows are grass-fed and quite happy. They use humane methods to kill them. Check out this website: localharvest.org to find one in your area!

Some of these people who have answered are being bullies! They are quite ignorant. Did you know that most soymeats are filled with MSG and other harmful and unnatural chemicals? I'm not willing to sacrafice my health so that a cow can live. I WILL NOT eat fast food or meat from a slaughterhouse, though. Boca is owned by Kraft, who secretly irradiates food in Iowa. Don't believe me?- check out responsibleshopper.org !

"Humane slaughter" is kind-of an oxymoron, don't you think? Is there really a "nice" way to kill someone who would rather not be killed?

Adam: the euthenasia of companion animals who are diseased and suffering for the sake of alleviating that suffering is a far cry from the exploitation and murder of farm animals for the sake of human tastebuds, don't you think?

Are farm animals, even those certified kosher, actually killed in the most pain-free method available? I doubt that. If such a producer actually exists, you can bet you'll pay through the nose for your "happy meat."

there is no such thing as "Humane slaughtering".
how is that even possible?
you can't kill a person and call it humane killing, same thing goes for animals.

I was under the impression that Kosher meats were killed more humanely (yea, sounds like an oxymoron.) the meat has to be slaughtered in accordance with Jewish law and they have a more humane approach. (if there is such a thing) but you can read the Jewish laws on-line and they describe how an animal is to be slaughtered

Well, I suppose you could hug a cow to death...

You've GOTTA give us some examples of "humane slaughtering"......

The ways animals are slaughtered cannot be considered "humane", although some ways are more humane than others...

Umm. well not that i know of, but there are some companies that just do it by machines and well i guess its not so bad through them. But you do need more details and facts in order for this Q to be answered correctly!!!

Hi,
Whilst there's no such thing as ''humane'' slaughter, just buy free range meats or organic.

If you buy organic meats, at least you are doing more for animal welfare.

Plus, I think its great that you support Peta. It shows that you care and that you are not a ruthless person.

I am having a hard time understanding why you would want to eat meat "if" you "strongly" support Peta. I mean you are supporting Peta to end animal suffering, but yet you want to eat meat so more people like you can add to animal suffering. how does that work?

Do you stand there and say "no cruelty to animals" and then munch on your dead cow hamburger?

free range = could mean less then 10 minutes of sun light. Does not sound too free to me!

Yes, I know someone will report me!

Yeah, that is kind of an oxy moron. Try soy meats or tofu if you don't want to contribute it.

There is always free range, but you cannot accurately know what the conditions the animals were in. If you don't want to contribute to it, why not just stop eating meat?

I suggest you take another look at Meet your Meat, though.

If you want to eat meat, the only "right" way to do it is to go out and shoot it yourself.

There isn't a slaughterhouse in existence that isn't cruel.

The only meat that's humane doesn't come from animals.

I would advise you to find another organization to support. Even vegan people sound silly if they say that they strongly support PeTA. That's like saying that you strongly support the wasting of millions of dollars and alienation of potential vegetarian and vegan people.

Most companies are reputable, and are inspected regularly. That is why we hear about the ones that fail to meet standard or abuse the stock.
Avoid Halal meats as well as Kosher meat.

I will not debate the vegetarian thing. You asked about meat. I think that "kosher" meat is humanely killed. Not the brand "kosher", actual kosher meat bought from a meat market. Slaughtered locally.

i think it is not just about the slaughtering method but also about what kind of life the animals have until then. maybe organic means that the standards are better for this.

The government has regulations that ensure that companies use humane methods to slaughter animals. Jews have a religious code (kosher) that is supposed to ensure that animals are slaughtered humanely, so that government doesn't apply its regulations to kosher slaughters, since they didn't think they needed additional regulations. Although ironically, as a result of that, kosher slaughters are sometimes worse than non-kosher slaughters. So if you go with a non-kosher slaughterer, you'll know that it's subject to government regulations.
