What ways can you use bueno?!

Question: Can you answer the phone with "bueno"?
Can you use "bueno" as a greeting when you meet someone, kind of like say "hey" or "hi"?
Can you use "bueno" to replace "hola"?
When mexicans answer the phone "bueno" are they actually asking a question, like "bueno?", what exactly does "bueno" mean when you use it to answer a phone?

First of all i'll actually answer your question wether it is a serious one or not.
Bueno techniqually means good. But depending on the context of the conversation it could be used in many ways. When i answer the phone i (being that this would be my mexican home) would say "Bueno" but it is usually used more as a question when answering the phone. like "bueno?"
like saying "hello? who is this" but shortened to one word. Saying 'buenos dias' would be used more in a person to person conversation not on the phone when you answer it. I find the main difference to be that when on the phone i would answer by saying 'bueno' which is a way of saying hola. but when you speak with someone who is there with you in person you would say hola.

First point: Random!

Second: I think you can use it however the hell you want

:P

bueno means good.
so no.

you say hola. not bueno

When Mexicans answer the phone "bueno", it's short for "buenos dias".

"techniqually"??
