Vegan Shopping List?!

Question: Hi, I'm Ciaran, and I've gone straight towards veganism.
I'm going to purchase my first weeks goods of groceries - could I have a few tips on what to put into my basket? Thanks :)

I'm going to purchase my first weeks goods of groceries - could I have a few tips on what to put into my basket? Thanks :)

Here's some suggestions (these are things I have in my home and are routinely stocked and restocked):

- sweet potatoes
- regular potatoes
- veggies you like (carrots, celery, bell peppers, etc)
- mushrooms
- onions
- dark leafy greens (spinach, kale, mustard greens)
- whole wheat pasta
- natural peanut butter (no added sugar, oils)
- peanuts, almonds, pistachios, or any nuts you like
- tempeh
- a few trays of tofu (3-4 extra firm and firm; 1-2 silken)
- fresh, seasonal fruit (oranges, apples, nectarines, etc)
- sauces, dressings or marinades that are vegan
- seasoning, herbs (basil, thyme, oregano, rosemary, dill, etc)
- whole wheat flour
- vegan sweetener (agave nectar, raw cane sugar)
- nutritional yeast (makes thinks taste cheesy, PACKED with vitamins and minerals that are hard to find otherwise)
- extra virgin olive oil
- a good vegetable oil you like to fry in
- grains and similar (quinoa, barley, cous cous, etc)
- steel cut rolled oats
- soy milk or almond milk
- sprouted grain or whole grain (100% whole grain!) bread
- beans and pulses like kidney beans, pinto beans, chickpeas, lentils and split peas
- acorn, butternut, spaghetti squash
- last but not least, a GREAT vegan cookbook like Robin Robertson's "Vegan Planet", with 400 recipes that are vegan from all around the world.

Alpro Soya Chocolate Milk < Yum! SO nice on cereal.
Cheezey < The best cheese substitute there is :)
Vegan Ice Cream < There's loads, they are the same as real ice cream :)
Kidney Beans < Make anything with them, chilli, curry, bean stew ... they are YUM.
Humus < It's made of chick peas so great for protein and if you don't like whole chick peas like me. You can dip stuff in like pitta bread, carrots etc.
Alpro Soya yoghurts < Strawberry are the best. I'm not MAD on them, but if you like your yoghurt then they're pretty good.
Green and Blacks dark vegan chocolate < If you like dark chocolate this is gorgeous.

Congrats on going vegan!
