Vegetarians and vegans are ethical people?!
After all some people who call themselves vegetarians eat fish
Answers: So it must be OK for them to eat roadkill as not eating it is wasting the earths resources.
After all some people who call themselves vegetarians eat fish
Yes roadkill is OK. Roadkill can be very healthy if it's fresh and eaten in moderation.
what is the question?
Vegetarians don't eat animals. Fish are animals.
I choose not to eat any meat and i'm thriving perfectly well. However if meat is that important to you and you think you need it to survive, then YOU eat the roadkill.
well i think their strong willed and virtuous, but not ethical
Nah. If we start eating roadkill it would be cruelty to crows and magpies etc.
i dont think its ok to eat roadkill, if someone ran over a human i would never eat them.
there not vegetarian if they eat fish, its still meat.
Meat is full of toxins. when the animal is about to die it releases a lot of toxic chemicals. THas why read meat gives you cancer.
Vegans and vegetarians are smart at some aspects. But most of them are new age thinkers and hippies. peace
No they may not eat it themselves, but possibly give it to their vegetarian dog as a treat. They dont have cats because they eat meat, which is likely to be residue of animals killed for human consumption and therefore against their ethos.
Had to laugh about releasing toxins when they are about to die, cant believe that many toxins are released as the 40 tonne truck runs it over, does not even have time to say "sh1t"
The pasty faced loons wouldn't know what to do with it.
First of all, you're not a vegetarian if you eat roadkill. Second, you're also not a vegetarian if you eat fish or poultry. Anyone who eats flesh of ANY kind is NOT a vegetarian. Lacto-ovo-vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products, but they DO NOT eat red meat, poultry, or seafood. And not only do vegans abstain from flesh foods, but they also abstain from eating dairy, eggs, honey and wearing animal fibers (e.g. wool and leather) and using items that are tested on animals or have animal byproducts if no alternatives exist. Those are the only TRUE vegetarians!
You can not paint all of a group with the same paint brush. As is all groups the variation is too large.
As a Vegan primary because of the belief humans were not made to eat animal flesh, why would I eat "roadkill"? Nor can I help it what other veggies & Vegan eat.
Think of it As you are Male & X. The most murders in the world are done by males that are X...so you are a Murder.
Does not compute ;-}
Slainté (to your health)
If you eat roadkill you're not a vegatarian. Vegetarians don't eat meat.
Although many people choose the vegetarian or vegan diet for ethical reasons, that does not make the person 'ethical' in and of itself. William McDonald, a serial killer known as 'the mutilator' was vegetarian. Was he ethical? No.
It's a lifestyle that says that for what ever reason you have chosen not to eat animals. Any animals, including road kill (which is not healthy, nor is it wasteful not to eat it. It will decompose and fertalize future life)
And anyone who eats fish is not vegetarian. They can call themselves what ever they want, but that doesn't make it true. I can drink coffee and call it tea, but that doesn't make me a tea drinker.
Duh then your not vegetarian you choose to eat meat thats died accidentally
And Fish is meat
Vegetarians and vegans are very ethical people. Not only are they helping the animals and themselves (why don't you look up how chickens are raised nowadays), but they are also helping the environment and other people.
good point
ethics does not depend on what people eat but about how they behave in the society. Being a vegetarian does not always mean to save the earth's resources, but might be supported by various backgrounds, i.e. morality, religion, culture, ethics, aesthetics, environment, society, economy, politics, taste, or health. so, it's not OK to eat roadkill for them for other underlying background. For some people who believe in christianity, meat consists of all hot blood animal excluding fish and seafood.
Yes, I agree. For years I tried to tell myself I was vegetarian, then vegan, for rational dietary reasons because I didn't want to face up to the fact that although there are sound health reasons for vegetarianism, my real reason is I don't want to eat or contribute to the suffering of sentient/living creatures. Technically, I have to say roadkill might be ok, but I would be concerned about what parasites or diseases the animal might have and there are still health reasons not to consume animal fat. I think I would rather resort to freeganism before that.
Roadkill??! What?? Then I'm afraid you are NOT vegetarian.
FISH IS NOT VEGETARIAN!!!
YAY Congratulations, thanks for sharing!!
Ethics have nothing to do with it for me. I don't care if its road kill, or fresh from the farm-eating decaying animal flesh just doesn't do it for me. It also has nothing to do with resources. I just don't like using my body as a graveyard for dead animal carcasses. Eat whatever you want-but leave my choices alone.
