Why are vegetarians discriminated against?!
OK nobody wants to have things forced down their throat.
I live with loads of omnivores and as long as I don't consume any meat, I am happy and my family are healthy and happy too!
Some of my friends say ''OH GOSH! YOU MUST eat MEAT!'' and I'm like, erm...no I don't. I've been veggie for ten years with no supplements so I'm doing something right, huh?
Why don't people understand that both omnis and veggies can live perfectly healthy lives? I hope you understand what I mean

Answers: The way I see it, it's very much a personal choice.

I know exactly what you mean. it is a personal choice and i dont understand the " oh gosh you must eat meat people".
so what if when dont wanna eat a poor tortured animal !@!@
Unfortunately as long as we are not the main stream we will always be discriminated against <sigh>
yes i do understand. it's just a choice.
i would like to be veggie, but i get the feeling i need bloody meat.....
I don't feel discriminated against.
The only criticism i ever get for being veggie is in this forum. Absolutely nowhere else.
It must just be the people you are surrounded by Scottie. Or the way you come across to them.
Why do they even know you are veggie ? Most people I know have no clue I'm veggie.
veggie for 28 years
Because vegetarians started world war 2. Vegetarians caused the stock market crash in 1929 and they nailed Jesus up on the cross. Not really, I don't know why they are discriminated against, the way I see it, the more vegetarians there are then that's just more meat for me.
I don't feel discriminated against and never have.
I went vegetarian in 1969 (vegan in 1996) and can honestly say the only place I have received any insults or criticism for it has been on these forums.
My experience is that most people, whatever their diet, couldn't care less what other people eat.
The perception if vegetarians are skinning weaklings, but I doubt they're being discriminated against.
But mostly, people just don't like vegetarians telling everyone else to stop eating meat. Mankind was made to be an omnivore, but being a herbivore is fine if you can consume the essential proteins rare in most vegetables. My family contains several vegetarians, and I'm fine with that...
