What does it mean when yoghurts alive?!
Answers: should i be worried, i don't want to be attacked, what on earth would i do, or you? or you? or me? or you? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
i am pretty sure it has active bacteria that helps disgest food in your intestines. i am pretty sure the micro organisms in yoghurt won't become a war or something. unless it is really old maybe....ahhhhh!
Yogurt has specially cultured bacteria in it to convert the milk into yogurt. It's more or less the same sort of bacteria that sours milk and makes cheese. You've got nothing to worry about... unless you're lactose intolerant.
Ordinarily milk and dairy products are pasteurised to make them last longer. This basically involves killing the micro-organisms in it by heating it up to about 70C (160F) for half a minute or so.
Live yoghurt is also pasteurised, but afterwards some of the bacteria that soured it in the first place are added back in to the yoghurt. It won't hurt you, but it won't make you healthy either. It might make you buy the yoghurt though.
Actually, that particular bacteria is good for you. And even if you are lactose-intolerant, as long as it is only mild, the bacteria makes it easier to digest.
it's just live bacteria..you wont be attacked. alot of thinks have live bacteria in it. like bread, theres live bacteria in the yeast. it wont harm you.

LOL, RUN, RUN! It just means it contains live cultures, which are great for you. The commercially sold yogurts are garbage, as a rule-they might contain a few live cultures, but they also have artificial or "natural" flavors and colors, and are almost always thickened with gelatin, which is made from the boiled skin, bones, ligaments and tendons of slaughtered animals. I make fresh, homemade yogurt every single day with raw, organic milk fresh from the cow. Its as alive as it gets, and very tasty! If you MUST buy commercial yogurt, FAGE (pronounce FA YEAH) is a good greek yogurt. Its super easy to make your own though-that way you at least know whats in it. If you like it thick, just strain it through a coffee filter (the whey that runs off makes a great face mask or hair conditioner)!
yogurt has living bacteria in it. if you were to put a little bit of yogurt on a slide, put blue methanol dye over it, and put it under a microscope, you would be able to see live bacteria moving in the yogurt. But there is nothing to worry about, the bacteria just helps to turn the milk into actual yogurt.
That the bacteria taken from the calf's stomach have not been killed through cooking or some other process.
