This is normal because your body is getting use to not eating meat which is the highest source of protein and iron your body can get. If you are serious about being vegan, maybe suppliment your body with a protein/iron vitamin supplement to help wtih the headaches and tiredness

I've been a vegetarian since I was born, and tried a high protein diet recently & had the same thing.. huge migraines and fatigue. Try taking a good multi-vitamin, eat a decent amount of carbs and protein, and up your intake of fresh raw foods. Also, make sure you're exercising at least 15-30 minutes a day. Excerising in these first few months will really help your body get rid of all the toxins built up in your system :)

toxins leaving your body. make sure you are eating nutritious foods.

I have used to get really bad headaches, most of them were migraines. i tried not drinking cow milk, so now i don't get nearly as many. Maybe your allergic to something new you've been eating, or not being able to get to sleep at night as easy from the change to vegan, i have not been able to fall asleep very easily, which i believe started around the time i went veggie. though the headaches have been much less and not as bad.
it could also be your body's way of telling you that you that you are missing something in you body, like calcium, protein, or some other kind of vitamin.

Your body is trying to get used to being healthy. just take an aspirin an get lots of rest an raw veggies, fruit an nuts. and good luck :)

I am not a vegan, in fact, I'm not even close to a vegetarian (I still eat white meat and fish), but I'm reading about healthy eating and I wonder if the following quote will answer your question... that is if your headaches and fatigue is due to lack of protein (as one member suggested):

"Generally speaking, protein derived from animal sources is a complete protein on its own, whereas, with the exception of soy beans, you need to combine cereals with legumes to obtain complete protein from vegetable sources. This is commonly seen in ethnic foods like rice and black-eyed peas in the West Indies, or chapattis with dal in India."

ya probably. just take advil or sth

If you're taking care of yourself and eating properly substituting all the needs of meat you should be fine.

Sometimes your body is not getting enough of what it needs and you can get headaches and feel fatigued.

You should see your doctor as a common problem in Vegetarian/Vegans is Iron deficiency. He/She can recommend something for you to take. It's usually along the line of Fefol.

1) Make sure you're getting enough to eat.

2) Make sure you're getting enough sleep.

3) Is there something in your life causing stress? That can cause headaches and exhaustion.

4) If you've eliminated other crap (like conventional sodas) from your diet, you could be detoxing. And that can cause you to be ill.

How often do you get headaches? I get them about once a month around "that time."
