Is meat good for you?!

Question: my dad says it's really good for you, he won't let me go veg*n.

I DO eat meat but only chicken and pork. Is it good for me?

I'm a bit overweight, is meat to blame??

Thanks in advance.

well pork isn't good for you................ pork is the most dirty meat ever................ everyone can live without meat. ok
its ok to eat it but so are dogs and flies but we don't eat them
so really don't get them cuz if it is good for you most meat are not.

well to answer your question meat is good for u. it is protein you need for your bones. protein can help yo with a lot of thigs to. now for the overweight thing. try eating salads and other healthy foods for a while and u can enjoy meat wit it. because i know one can tell you what to stop doing. you make a good decision. you know what is right for your body

Pork is in no way good for a woman, although in small doses it is healthy for men, due to differences in the way we use the nutrients (for example, pork is a good nutritional stimulant for testosterone). Chicken is good for you assuming you exercise, and assuming it's cooked in a healthy way. Eating anything out of KFC is a bad idea, for more reasons than simply nutrition, and any fried chicken goes along with that rule.
The main point is to eliminate the pork.

this dosent have anything to do with meat. if you want to eat meat but to be healthy. go with the turkey. like turkey bacon, ground turkey instead of ground beef. chicken and pork is good for you to. you can bake it. this is healthier. the meats you should stay away from is the red meats like stakes and ground beef stuff like that they can be loaded with fat.

No and yes. It depends solely on how it's used and what type it is... same thing with any food group. To me, the cons outweigh the pros, but that is a decision everyone has to make for themselves.

Being overweight comes from consuming excess calories. Those calories can come from meat, cake, or even broccoli. Too much of anything can make you overweight.

Meat is good for you if you eat lean cuts, prepare it with limited added fat, and consume it in moderation. For example, you said you eat chicken--but what kinds of chicken are you eating? The white meat tends to be less greasy than the legs and the wings. When you eat poultry, it should always be without the skin; chicken skin is loaded with calories. Also, obviously, avoid deep-frying; baked chicken is healthier than fried chicken.

As for pork, make sure you eat the cuts with the fat trimmed off; the tenderloin is good, and so are the chops. If you want to lose weight, cut out ham and bacon altogether; both cuts are unbelievably high in fat, salt, and chemicals that you don't need.

So, if you think meat is "to blame" for your weight, look at which cuts you're actually eating and how many calories are in them. Meat alone doesn't make you gain weight; eating too many calories does. If you eat fresh, lean meats in moderation, meat is very healthy. If you eat a ton of greasy, salty meat, it's not healthy.

I hope this helps!

a flex veg does not exist. if you eat meat your not a flex or semi of a group that does not eat meat. it's GREAT you've reduced your consumption, just don't use a silly label for it.

on to your question.... how bout going vegetarian and not vegan? i started by stopping red meat and just ate chicken and then i stopped chicken too.... and seafood... you certainly do not need to eat meat at all to be healthy. in fact many many studies show that a veg diet is healthier and will reduce your risk of a lot diseases that occur later in life. try showing your dad some real hard evidence, also show him things you plano n eating in place of meat, start cooking and shopping more. he might jsut want to know your not going to live off pizza and become a stick figure. alot of parents worry but most relax after they see your healthy and happy. i stopped when i was about 13 and heard it from all angles, almost 15 years later they praise my diet and how healthy i am and ask me for things they should eat.... give it time.

Only if you eat it in moderation like a Flexitarian Vegetarian would do. Chicken is very good .. poultry of any kind is good . . . pollo-vegetarians eat it all of the time.

You might want to check the other things that you eat if you are overweight. "Junk" food, are empty calories and can contribute to weight gain.

NO!!!!

If you eat it in lean and in moderation. Eat more vegs than meat, and you'll be just as healthy as a vegetarian. Don't eat red meats, however. They can increase your chances for cancer, and they are highly unhealthy. And if you eat pork, be picky and cut the fat off around the edges. I don't think meat has anything to do with you being overweight. Just do exercism more and eat more slowly so you'll fill up faster. Basically, do as the french do! They eat slowly, consume less, and exercise everything off. You'll be perfectly fine.

Meat is good for you as long as you eat in moderation. I would suggest a flex veg diet. It is the healthiest diet by far and is startinga revolution.
