Tater Tot Salad? Am I crazy or would this work out well?!

Question: I was thinking about making a Potato Salad but instead of using cubed, boiled potatoes I thought I might use tater tots.

Has anyone had something similar? Do you have a recipe?

I took a peek and it looks like others had a similar idea on vegweb.com:

Vegan Tater Tot Salad.

Mostly I just saw Tater Tot Casserole recipes, so this is new to me too. It sounds pretty good :)

hmmm, i dont think it would work because when you boil the taters, they will fall apart, unless you bake them. but then you will have a baked salad which is weird. but, tater tots are awesome. so i dont know what to tell you, it wont hurt to try.

Don't do it. Once Tator Tots get cold they're nasty, assuming you mean a cold salad.

Believe me, I've such MUCH wackier salad ideas. This one is tame. It sounds good, actually.

that actually sounds really good!

You dig high cal/high chem food, huh? Okay, yes, you could do it, but you would have to eat it all right away -- those tater tots would get awfully soggy much past a few minutes.

Add whatever you would normally add to potato salad (onions, celery, green bell peppers, red peppers (bell or hot, your choice), I would never put eggs in my potato salad but people do, mayonnaise. Toss.

i like tater tots
go for it

haha omg that sounds awsome, i love tator tots! let me know if it tastes good

I don't like potato salad, but it sounds like it might work out.
