Can egg can be eaten by vegetarians?!
Answers: Some vegetarians eat egg saying egg is categorized as a vegetable.
Eggs are *not* vegetables. Though some vegetarians do eat them. There are different grades or kinds of vegetarian diets. Only Lacto-ovo or ovo-vegetarians eat eggs.
Lacto-ovo vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish or poultry
Eats dairy and eggs
Lacto vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR eggs
Eats dairy
Ovo vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy
Eats eggs
Vegans don't eat red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy, eggs, honey or any other animal by product. Veganism usually extends beyond just avoiding consuming animal products. It is a philosophical and or ethical point of view which, aims to minimize animal suffering by eliminating the use of all animal products such as leather, fur, wool and silk and avoiding products tested on animals.
Pescetarians, Pollotarians and Flexitarians are NOT vegetarians, they are are omnivores.
Eggs cannot be eaten by vegans. Vegetarians can eat anything except for meat. Vegans cannot eat any animal product. This includes honey, milk, cheese and eggs. Vegans don't usually wear leather, either.
Well it just depend. If you a strict vegetarians like Buddhism, you can not eat eggs. If you just a plain vegetarians that don't want to eat meat, well you can.
Egg is considered a non - veg product though it is something in the middle of veg and non veg
No one who makes any sense would say that an egg is categorized as a vegetable, because it doesn't meet the basic requirements to be one! However, some vegetarians are not pure vegans, and those who are ovo-lacto vegetarians will eat egg and dairy products, but not meat. Vegans would not eat eggs because they are animal products.
That depends entirely on the vegetarian. Some eat animal products like eggs, milk and cheese. Some even eat fish. Others eat nothing but grains and vegetables. Some don't eat anything that's been cooked in animal fat. Some don't eat anything that's been cooked at all.
no, eggs are animal products, though if your a vegetarian you can still it them.
Vegans, who don't eat any animal products, don't eat eggs though.
I have never heard a vegetarian say that eggs are a vegetable. Some vegetarians feel that eggs are OK because the animal wasn't killed for them to eat-same with dairy. Some vegetarians feel that cows and chickens are mistreated on large egg and dairy farms and have an ethical problem with eating those products.
I do not eat meat primarily for health reasons, but I do eat eggs and dairy sparingly, and always buy cruelty free eggs. I have not yet seen cruelty free cheese but I buy it mostly from small local dairies that probably treat the animals a bit better.
The term "vegetable" generally refers to the edible part of a plant. The definition is traditional rather than scientific. It is somewhat arbitrary and subjective, as it is determined by individual cultural customs of cooking and food preparation.
Normally, any herbaceous plant or plant part which is regularly eaten as food by humans would be considered to be a vegetable. Mushrooms, though belonging to the biological kingdom Fungi, are also generally considered vegetables in the retail industry.[1][2] Nuts, seeds, grains, herbs, spices and culinary fruits (see below), are not normally considered to be vegetables, even though they are all parts of plants.
In general, vegetables are regarded by cooks as being most suitable for savory or salted dishes, rather than sweet dishes, although there are many exceptions, such as pumpkin pie and rhubarb crumble. Some vegetables, such as carrots, bell peppers and celery, are eaten either raw or cooked; while others, such as potato, are traditionally eaten only when cooked
eggs are definatley not a vegetable, but can be eaten by vegetarians, but not vegans!
Chicken and Easter eggs yes, no problem
Depends on what type of "vegetarian" you are. Vegans do not eat anything that comes from animals.
Unlike posted previously Chicken can NOT be eaten by any vegerterian same with fish
my sources contains a link to a list of diferent forms and what they can and can not eat.
There is no answer to can a vegetarian eat eggs the question is missing an important element if they are pure, lacto. ovo or a combination. If they are an ovo vegetarian they can if they are not then they would not eat eggs.
Eggs and milk are the "natural" product of an animal...but what about make-up?...that usually contains pig products!...and maybe tested on animals!...I reckon its difficult to be a true vegan...without being a scientist....
I'm a vegetarian and eat eggs and other dairy products. there just organic. stop eating meat. look up slaughter houses and animals on youtube. do more than just stop eating meat.
