Are there fewer sandwiche options for Vegetarians/Vegans?!

Question: OK so where I live, in shops there's less choice of sandwiches in particular.

Some Manufacturers forget that tuna is NOT veggie.

Do you find your food choices are restricted? I do :(

What are your thoughts on this? x

hi hollywood hottie!
yes there are fewer options for veggies/vegans and you are restricted. i usually try a find a sandwich shop that makes them fresh, or else i make them at home!
try this one.....humous, sliced avocado, crispy lettuce, red onion, tomato and mango chutney! :)x
alot of people think tuna is veggie, so wrong!
p.s if you are veggie you can usually get an egg or salad sandwich, not alot of choice!

I was a vegan for years and I didn't find that there was any sandwiches that I could eat in shops, apart from the godsend humous and veg ones. I usually ate vegan sausage rolls from Holland and Barratt. Then I realised how much I was being an idiot, and started eating dairy and fish. And I am happy with my tuna melts, and I have much better skin and bones because of it. Naturally, you are going against what human beings are by nature supposed to do, so are you suprised that there are less options for you? Have a bloody ploughmans or go home and have a sandwich. Easy.

I sure do. My hubby went to Burger King yesterday and got their veggie burger it's Morning Star brand and he said it was really good.

no way there are lots of veggies and cheese for the vegans out there that we can choose from and breads when i go to like a f ast food place i tell them please prepare my hamburger with out the meat patty and it tastes just as great as it would have meat in it

I am sure that there are fewer choices, most especially for vegans- bread is made with milk, eggs, butter, and sometimes honey.

yes, in some areas. it depends on where you live

Yeah, and the ones that are available are usually tasteless or yucky because all they put in there is a slice of cucumber or tomato. GROSS. I mean my idea of a good sandwich would be some kind of bean patty with hummus and a good deal of hot sauce or guacamole or something to add spiciness and creamy mouth feel.

Well it has gotten easier on vegetarians, but not for vegans. I only eat about 3 sandwhiches, and I need to make sure the bread I'm eating is vegan (most bread has honey or milk in it).
Now that is sad! But I'm sure it well get better in time.

Obviously, if you're cutting out foods, you'll have less options than those that don't, but I usually find I have little trouble with sandwiches.

At Subway, I can either have veggie subs with various kinds of cheese, or a veggie deli roll, or a veggie patty sub (which is super delicious), or wrap versions of all of those. My favourite is veggie patty on whole wheat with lettuce, tomato, olive, banana peppers, and spicy dressing.

At Pita Pit, I can either get plain veg, hummus, falafel, cheddar cheese, feta cheese, or mozzarella, with the various fillings.

At my favourite sports bar, they make a delicious veggie burger with guacamole and provolone cheese, or I can get a 3-cheese grilled cheese sandwich with grilled mushroom.

At my favourite cafe, they always have a 'nut butter and fruit' sandwich and some other variety of veg sandwich.

Heck, even at Denny's, I can get 4 or 5 ways of fixing a veggie burger.

Maybe you're living in a super-small town... or maybe you need to try new restaurants, or requesting some new options at the restaurant. Heck, it can't hurt to ask, right?

Do you find your food choices are restricted?................NO

I never buy pre-made sandwiches.

I make them at home.

OR

I go the deli takeaway, choose the ingrediants and have them made up in front of me.

.

Gosh, no! I never found the options limited because I made my own sandwiches, and I put a nut or bean spread on them, then loaded them with vegetables (my faves were red bell pepper, avocado, and alfalfa sprouts.

If you are buying someplace, ask them for a salad and two pieces of bread and then put the salad on the bread. Voila! Vegan sandwich.

Don't be veggie man. It's supah unhealthy, If you saw my friend you would see how messed up he is because he's been veggie for so long. Extreme lack of protein so his brain isn't developing so well.
