Can you use Soy Milk in oatmean when you microwave it instead of water???!


Question: I don't like milk so I was wondering if you could use Soy. I didn't know if the heat from the microwave would spoil it or not. Thanks!

Yes you can, it won't do anything to the soy milk itself, though studies have shown that 40% or more (some studies I've seen even estimate 60%) of the vitamin B12 in food is destroyed by microwaving. So if your soy milk is fortified with B12, you might want to remember that you can't count the B12 in your microwaved soy milk.

However, it certainly won't spoil, it'll taste good. :) Enjoy.

You can, but remember that microwaves are harmful to people and the foods we put in them have their vitamins almost completely destroyed. I believe Russia banned microwaves because of this.
