Well, there are several reasons. Did you know that we are the only species that drinks milk after infancy? And we are the only species that drinks other species milk. I find it disgusting.

You can pick up those same hormones you get from meat from their byproducts

And a little interesting fact: There is only one country if Africa that does not have milk producing cows, and it is the only country where women DON'T get osteoporosis.

i recently decided to cut dairy from my diet because i found out that the body cannot really digest dairy all that well. the dairy just stays in our system. i thought it would be healthier to just cut that from what i would normally eat.

I didn't cut all dairy out of my diet but the main reason I cut whole milk and ice cream out of my diet is that I can sh*t through a screen door an hour after I ingest it, not to mention all the cramps before the blow.

i am not vegitarian. but there are many types.
Lacto-ovo-vegitarians eat no animal flesh but eat dairy and eggs.
Lacto-vegitarians eat no animal flesh or eggs but eat dairy
And vegans avoid all foods of animal origin.

so i guess it all depends on personal preference and beliefs.
thats like me, an omnivore, asking why dont you eat meat?

eliminating dairy products i guess is just a moral philosophical practice.

also, some people are lactose intollerant!!

:]

I was diagnosed as lactose intolerant in 2003.

I absolutely loved cheese and yogurt, so pretty much ignored the issue for a few years but because of my idiotic behaviour, the intolerance got much worse

I was getting terrible mucus the day after consuming dairy, which it turn lead to constant blocked chest infections.

I also started to get terrible cramps and pains in my stomach, after consuming dairy.

The last time I ate two slices of cheese, I had such bad pains in my stomach, that I was doubled over in pain, lying on the bed crying my eyes out.

Anyway, finally learnt my lesson and have not eaten dairy products since.

Got over my craving by thinking of cheese as pus - certainly put me off.

.

you can go on a liquid diet. you can only eat/drink,clear broth, water,,jello,or clear juice.

Well I was already vegetarian and then I started to learn about the cruelty involved in the dairy industry and decided that I didn't want anything to do with eating any parts of animals anymore.

So I gradually cut everything out, first i cut out straight dairy (cheese, milk, cream etc.) and eggs and then I gradually cut out chocolate and then finally stuff with dairy in it like cakes, biscuits etc.

hi,h.h this is the reason i cut out dairy
http://www.vegsoc.org/info/ then click on cattle.
its long but worth reading, i am also against live exports and felt i would be contributing to this by continuing to have dairy in my diet!

i cut down on dairy due to my allergy rhinitis. they make my allergy worst.
