I recently became a vegetarian but am allergic to soy, any suggestions?!
In the mean time I highly suggest incorporating quinoa into your diet. It is a complete protein that I usually mix in with brown rice. I've known vegans with much more restricted diets than minus just the soy. So take heart you'll find the variety and nutrition you need.
Answers: There are actually 1000's of varieties of soy beans. Maybe research and see if you can find a variety you can handle.

Hiya
I've been veggie for 10 years now :)
You could drink rice or oat milk, they are both really yum! :)
find some soy substitutes. I will not question why you became a vegitarian even though you are allergic to soy.
but do find some soy substitues. There has to be something like that out there
Have you thought about going back to meat?
Well, there's seitan, which is known as "wheat meat." You'll want to make your own, which is pretty easy to do. You use the Arrowhead Mills Vital Wheat Gluten and follow the directions on the box, but don't use plain water for the simmering liquid, or your seitan will be bland.
Beans are good sources of protein, not to mention iron. Eat whole grains as well.
Nuts are also good sources of protein, but they're also high in fat, so do be cautious.
You can also get protein from nuts, lentils, and other beans. If you are noticing signs of protein deficiency despite your best efforts, then you may consider buying specific animal protein products. Due to the stressful living conditions of hens and heffers, I propose that certain kinds of meat are actually more humane than increasing your intake of eggs/milk.
I filmed a local bison ranch for a commercial that I made, and I was surprised by what I saw. The bison are grass-fed without hormones or antibiotics and they live lives that are pretty much identical to how they would've lived on this very land 200 years ago. Wild fish also live free lives.
So if you're not opposed to eating animals in general, then you could buy from local farms that you know take good care of their animals. For humane purposes, I strongly suggest this instead of increasing egg/milk intake.
