Eggs, fish, and vegetarians?!

Question: Im in the process of becomin a vegetarian--yes in the process i need to learn how to cook first cuz im a college student and veggie foods are frankly more expensive.

ok so i havent eaten eggs since i was 5 i think. i just hate the taste yuck. But i know vegetarians do eat eggs. so here's my question why?? arent eggs supposed to hatch and become chicken lol? I know that a lot of the egg thatssold cant be hatched but isn't it the principle of the whole thing?

And whats up with vegetarians that eat fish? wern't they alive at some point?

The eggs that you can buy from a store are not fertilized so they do not contain any chicken embryo that will hatch someday. They are similar to human "periods". They are basically discards.
Some vegetarians however, do not eat eggs in protest of the conditions that egg laying hens are subjected to in battery or factory farms. Smaller organic egg farms on the other hand, treat their animals much better so many vegetarians would eat those eggs.

A vegetarian strictly speaking, is not supposed to eat fish as fish are animals and their flesh is still meat albeit a healthy alternative to the usual red meats most people eat. Some "vegetarians" find fish acceptable though technically, they are not vegetarians by definition. But they are eating healthy for the most part and for me, that's all that really should matter. labels are not really that important.

I am a "strict" vegetarian who does not eat fish though I will eat an egg or two from time to time. I will also drink skim milk or eat dairy products (mostly cheese or yogurt) occasionally

Well my sister is one she does not eat fish but eggs the egg is not a meat it have not grew in to a little cute baby chick

fish arent meat!!

There are so many types of vegetarians. Some eat fish, some don't. This is the first I hear that vegetarians eat eggs. Eggs, health wise, are terrible due to high cholesterol content. If you can avoid eggs, even if you are not a vegetarian, do so.

A vegetarian can still eat eggs and cheese and yogurt and foods still processed or made of/with animal products but refrain from eating any actual animal flesh, whereas a vegan will eat absolutely no food processed or made of/from animal products. Pescatarians eat a vegetarian diet with the exception that they also eat fish which yes, is a type of meat, interestingly enough!

vegetarians who eat fish are a little mixed up in their heads. People are just as cruel to aquatic animals as much as land animals. I don't eat meat because of principle as much as because of the process in which the meat is begotten. Eggs probably should not be eaten either. Any animal should not be eaten. stop eating meat now. not in the future. not in the near future. Now. Look up what they do to animals

it's really up to you.... depends where you want to draw your line. i'm a vegetarian- no meat (yes that includes fish they are meat), but i dont' drink milk, eggs, ice cream, yogurt... but i'll still eat products made with those things (ex. cake)... for me the bigger issue is the process. i don't consider eggs meat. most don't... i don't remember the specifics, but the egg is not technically "an aborted baby chicken"... either way, my issue is that to get eggs animals are still suffering in factory farms. so when i cook i use free range eggs and i just use soy milk. again with the fish, some say they don't suffer to the degree other animals do. i don't agree, especially when you get into very developed sea animals. but it's about people drawing their lines and doing what's best for them. something is defiantely better than nothing.

It is always the mind preset. how many are there who doesn't even drink milk..(offcourse some comunities are there). even milk can be considered as non vegetarian diet. It is according to the resource availability. when egg is treated as Veg food then no wonder beer being treated as cool drink even though it has considerable amount of alchol content. Veg diet is something that doesnt come from any source of animals. it is purely products and by products of plants/trees.

unfertilized eggs arent meant to become chickens, they're kind of like a hen's period (i know, gross) and some vegetarians don't eat them.
fish is meat, so when "vegetarians" eat them they are not actually vegetarian, they are pescatarian.
