Is Hershey's Cocoa Powder Vegan?!
Answers: If, not what are some vegan brands?
I am a former chef and all cocoa is after they crush the cocoa beans some is processed into chocolate and the ohter into cocoa powder, it has no animal, milk or other ingredients other than in the porcess called "Dutched" or "Dutch Process there is a small amount of an alkaline powder to keep it from caking, a calcium based one from limestone.
There are types in the U.S mainly known as "Breakfast Cocoa" they contain milk and sugar for a hot drink in the morning, like Nestle's Quik, I have used it all over the world and it is the same no matter where you go, just the one from Hershey in the U.S with the sweetness to it is different, in ohter countrys it is not even refered to as cocoa if not pure 100% and unsweetened.
I'm almost 100% postive it is, but read the lable silly....
Nature's Flavor and also Dagoba
My girlfriend just moved in and brought with her some of that very same cocoa. From the label as far as I can tell it is. It may say something like processed on the same equipment as milk, nuts, etc, but that doesn't really bother me.
