People
....or liver.
I have never starved, so it is hard to say what I would do in the situation. I imagine that as a matter of survival there would be no selectivity.
I'll prob get reported for this but it is true...
Vomit or Feces.
Everything else is either veg matter or part of the living meat from an animal...
I'm of german decent so I was raised on Head Cheese... Home made by my grandpa...
And from my travels I have eaten snales and all sorts of sea weed and alge... Bugs and strange, sometimes nasty fruit...
If it is part of a living animal... I think I could eat it... Especially if I am starving... But anything already partially digested or fully digested, no. That is my limit.
Actually, there is very little that even the most rational and ethical human being will not eat in a case of extreme starvation.
The biological truth is that when starvation sets in, the human body progressively shuts down unnecessary systems in order to conserve energy. It also beings a process of self canibalization whereby it begins to break down protein based tissues to create energy, a not very efficient process that is a last ditch resort.
However, the human brain is a severe drain on energy and it too begins to progressively shut down whereby the sections of the brain that deal with more ethical, esoteric and moral thought are shut down first. This leaves the more primal functions intact and dominant and these parts of the brain will try to ensure survival at any cost. Murder and the eating of other humans become increasingly more acceptable to a person who reaches this unfortunate state.
When we are well nourished we are almost totally unable to accept the unpleasant truth that when we are severely stared, we will eat virtually anything for the sake of survival.
steak.
hot dog.
hamburger.
(any meat besides chicken)
Any other living animal. - including humans!
Interesting question....
Actually, if it really came to the point of starving and you haven't eaten anything in about a week, your brain overrides everything that you have ever known about eating or taste. Your body will start to crave certain nutrients that the body needs. You will end up eating things you would have never thought you would have before just to get them nutrients and what the body needs to survive. It's like a survival instinct that takes over. So never say never.
Well, there are many things - but one is MEAT. Ever since I found out that it is common practice for slaughterhouses to kill horses and mark them as "beef" to meet quotas, I just want to be sick. If you've eaten beef, chances are you've also eaten horse. But that's the least of your concerns if you eat any type of meat. Did you know that the USDA gives the slaughterhouse managers the USDA stamp to approve the meat themselves? And you want to eat that? You want to eat animals pumped full of hormones, fed anitbiotics, who were full of adrenaline the moment they were killed? And organic isn't any better. Read Skinny *****, it'll change your life.
