Is tomato a vegetable or a fruit?!

Question: Though it is botanically a fruit, the tomato is nutritionally categorized as a vegetable. Since "vegetable" is not a botanical term, there is no contradiction in a plant part being a fruit botanically while still being considered a vegetable.

wats the difference to knowledge and wisdom?
knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit
wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad

A tomato is a vegetable. Somehow, people have randomly chosen this vegetable to create a debate around, even though there are other members of the nightshade family that are also vegetables- eggplant and peppers.

The tomato is the "fruit" portion of the plant, as is a pepper, or any other vegetable. This is as opposed to the leaf portion of the plant, or the flower of the plant. If some people had ever grown anything, you would understand this does not mean something is "a fruit." This is where everyone seems to get confused, It's actually very, very simple. If you look at the anatomical structure of a tomato plant, and you look a the red part, yes, it says FRUIT. Look at a picture of some other vegetable, It will say the same thing.

fruit
