Is it true that most livestock is tortured to death before they die?!
Answers: like they cut their throats and let them bleed while they are gutting them at the same time while they are hung upside down.
Yeah its true.
I think PETA are on the verge of propaganda sometimes but the basic gist of it is right and of course the footage is real. Watch Earthlings on youtube, thats nothing to do with PETA and tells you nothing but the truth
Animals are usually stunned before they get killed but in so many factories they save electricity and dont stun them enough so they are awake. Chickens tend to wake up when they are having thier throats slit and then dunked in boiling water and the same for other animals
Its not just the death that hurts animals though, its the fact that they've lived their whole life in confinment. Pigs typically go insane because they are so confined, they even start to bite each others tails off because they're so mad. This means, farmers have to take of the tails when they're just born without anesthetic. Same goes for chickens who have there beaks cut off with a hot rod which is the equivilant of having your fingernails pulled out. This is not to mention the fact that they are taken away from there mothers at birth which is traumatic for both mother and child. Most of the torture goes on while they're still alive which is even more heartbreaking x
Yes, of course that's true. Why do you think Millions of Americans are deciding to leave meat off their plates?
Please watch this video,
http://www.meat.org/
PETA and Ingrid Newkirk would like everyone to believe that. Some are and some are not. I think the majoritry is not. When it does happen it is obviously all over the news.
YES. How else do you think they would kill them. Hug them to death?
Do research on factory farming and slaughter house methods.
Watch a free video online called Earthlings. you can find it on google.
It happens but not in all places. I grew up in a rural area where people usually slaughter their own meat. The food animals (cows, pigs, chickens, turkey, sheep or lamb )are killed as fast a possible without undue cruelty or torture. Death usually happens in a minute or two. But factory farms or those that handle large amounts of animals have procedures to follow and the criteria is efficiency and speed not compassion. So it does happen that animals are left to suffer.
Please understand that while some people probably enjoy seeing animals suffer in the manner you've described, most are simple folks just carrying out their jobs, making a living for their families. The vast majority do not enjoy torturing animals. That's why when it does occur or is documented in a video, it makes the news.
I am a vegetarian who for personal reasons, do no want to see any creature killed for my sake. However, I do not condemn those who think differently from me. If people want to eat meat, then so be it. It's just not for me anymore.
I'm trying to think of a way to kill an animal without torture....
Some are unfortounately are but alot of animals just have their heads cut off so no tourture there.
They're not tortured they're killed instantly and painlessly. You don't have to torture an animal to kill it.
Yes. Animals are often still conscious when workers slit their throats open. Chickens, turkeys, and fish represent 99 percent of the animals killed for food in the U.S., and there is not a single federal law protecting them on factory farms or slaughterhouses.
In some places, like KFC, they do torture and abuse the animals for months before they are slaughtered, but i wouldn't say it's true everywhere. i still don't eat meat though.
It is true in a way, some times they are and sometimes they aren't.
NO, that's PETAbot propaganda fed to sheeples
