To all vegetarians & vegans...?!

Question: Do you miss meat/dairy?

As a vegetarian I don't miss meat.

It puzzles me when people ask ''How do you live without BACON??!''

But I cannot comprehend living my life *with* meat ! =)
Thanks in advance

No, I really don't miss meat or dairy.
Once I fully realized the horrors of the dairy industry, I swore it off and never looked back. (ew!!)

Ironically, I used to LOVE scrambled eggs with cheese, boiled eggs (as a snack), cheese and crackers, and chocolate milk. (not all at the same time, mind you)

I'm with you - I cannot imagine eating meat! I was watching Top Chef and they were cooking with their dead carcasses....I just kept thinking to myself how unappetizing it looked.

I'm slowly removing meat from my diet.
I find recently eating most red meats quite sickening now. I feel a lot better from a vegetarian lifestyle!

I miss ice cream...The real milky ice cream eg , choc mint , cookies and cream , all i seem to get now is soyabean and taro ice cream..i mean its not bad..but it could be better.. and sorbets..But oh well! You know! =)

No - I became a veggie a few years ago and I haven't even thought about eating meat since.

hi h.h as a vegan i really dont miss meat or eggs, i would say the only thing i really miss is cheese, its strange isn't it how people seem to think that bacon is something you couldnt live without!
ellie i dont know if you can get swedish glace brand of ice-cream but the vanilla is sooooooooo lush and my friends couldnt tell the difference!

I don't miss meat at all. Just looking at it or smelling it makes me wanna barf. I do kind of miss cheese... but haven't had it since I went vegan couple of months ago. It gets easier with time I think. =)

Never liked bacon even when I was omni... so don't miss it

I miss chicken every once in a while. I still eat dairy, but I did cut down on it.

I miss the taste but as soon as I picture the animal living I just make myself a cheese sarnie!!!

No. I feel better now.

No. I never really had any problems with being a Vegetarian. I guess the fundamental motivation for becoming/being a vegetarian/vegan is very important.

For example, I never had a prob with eating meat. In fact, I enjoyed eating chicken etc. But I became a vegetarian because I don't want to hurt animals. And it was simple as that.

I has been told by a number doctors that I have to eat some meat or sea food so now I have to add a piece here and there for health reasons. (I do eat a lot of tofu but somehow blood tests show I am low on iron etc. Can't eat much dariy instead because of allergies... dame.). Similar to meat eaters who find hard not to eat meat : I have to make conscious efforts to add fish or what ever into my weekly diet. I now am having a few pieces of sushi/sashimi how and then but am not sure the quantity helps my health or not. Hope so.

I accidentally got a can of pork and beans they got mixed up at the store the cashier was handling 2 customers at the same time she put the pork in beans in the bag for me not realizing I'm a vegetarian.. she probably thought beans are beans. I bet the meat eater was disappointed getting the beans in tomato sauce.. or maybe she didn't even notice!
I always check when I grab things off the shelf and put in the shopping cart so the mix up had to have happened at the counter! There's no reason to eat meat.. There are foods that can imitate meat but I know they aren't the same taste they take getting use to. I live 2 mile from the store so I ate those pork and beans and got sick from them still sick in the stomach. 7th day Adventists say pork is unclean they don't eat that but some do eat other meats. I figure if one meat is unclean all of them must be so! I sorta agree with you but I get this comment: How can you live without protein? That's stupid isn't it! Meat is Dead Protein there's much more protein in dark green veggies and the red ones such as beets and no cholesterol! It's the cholesterol that meat eaters are actually addicted.. I never ever cared for eating any meats except for fish.. fish was hardest to give up but the mercury scare helped me there!

no i dont' miss meat it makes me feel sick infact and i cant wait to go vegan - tehres not really much iw ould miss but i know ill just get used to being a vegan because i want to be one so bad it doesnt matter to me.

I dont miss meat at all but I did used to love the taste, especially bacon ;) Theres so many good subsitutes out there which helps
I think if I went vegan I would probably miss things like cheese and the stuff thats made out of milk ect but thats not the point for me, its all about the animals x

Do you miss meat/dairy?

Use to a lot, as I loved both. I gave up both for health reasons.

But as time goes on, don't really think about it.

I tried a prawn last week. Use to love prawns. This one I had to spit out as the taste, texture and feeling in my mouth was awful. Nothing wrong with it but I have changed.

.

after the first week of being a vegetarian i had no desire or craving for meat anymore.

I don't miss meat, and I've found substitutes for it.
