i think it is very brave and an excellent idea. You probally would go to jail but think of it this would the blacks in south africa have equal rights if nelson mandella had broken the law and had gone to jail for 27 years. The way animals are treated at slaughter house is way to inhumane and disgustingly wrong and someone need to take action. the government is part of the mass slaughters so we the people need to take it into our own hands. Bring back the 70s we need that peace and willingness to fight the government. Fight the power.
hope this helped=]

seriously jake that is the best question on here, as long as no one was hurt i would say that is a VERY good idea! till all are free!!!

i personally think it is cowardly and cruel to own a slaughter house. guess you do it for the money tho eh!

I understand why some vegetarians are so outraged by the slaughterhouse treatment of animals and might consider actions like this. But committing a crime in response to a crime against life doesn't seem the best solution either. Many other actions can be taken, to lobby for change, or educate people, or have them empathize with the plight of the animals. Sadly, slaughterhouses are legal, but certainly not moral or ethical. If you have exhausted all legal steps, then... but I think most vegetarians have not decided to be social activists for their beliefs. If you did destroy the slaughterhouse and relocate the animals, I would cheer, but I don't see it as any longterm solution.

That would only be 1 slaughterhouse, there are THOUSANDS nationwide. But it could be on the news and cause a global scare that meat is going to run out, and watch everyone panic for there lives. Indeed. LOL

I like the idea but it sounds almost impossible to safely relocate that many animals

ya that would be freakin awesome!!! if you do that thatd be incredible, well at least you have a good heart

If I had the money and a good enough plan, I would do it now.

edit: "osama bin veggie" - are you on drugs?

osama bin - masterminded a plan to kill thousands of people. Vegetarians and vegans, want to stop killing. - See the difference?

I have yet to find a source of authority that would allow me to force my views upon others.

So.........................no.

If it's a slaughterhouse, I would assume that all of the animals have already been killed. Therefore, I couldn't remove the animals and take them to a better place, unless I took the carcasses and gave them a proper burial.

Also, if I were to do a protest in the middle of the night, it would say that I'm ashamed of in what I believe and of whom I am. I am not ashamed of in what I believe and of whom I am. Therefore, there is no reason for me to hide.

As has been said, it's only one slaughterhouse and unfortunately, it's more or less legal. The company may not be following FDA "regulations", but they're getting away with it anyway.

i think it would be WONDERFUL!im a vegitarian

Cool, I didn't know we had A.L.F.-ers posting here!

That would be awesome...but somehow i doubt that you could rescue them all in time. :(

Even though I am horrified by animal cruelty, I don't think I would raid a slaughterhouse. Although it may save some animals, I think it would create a lot of vegan backlash-- as a lot of people assume vegans are 'crazy angry activists' instead of peace-loving compassionate people.

I think one of the best things we can do is by being vegetarian or vegan, which in itself saves the breeding of many animals for slaughter. The next step I'd suggest is to leaflet or show others video clips of animal slaugher such as "meat your meat" (which you can see on youtube). Having people see images of animal slaughter may convince them to become vegetarian, which would save thousands of animals even if you only got one person to convert to vegetarianism. But if they turn vegetarian, they may also get other people to be vegetarian too-- so you may indirectly help many people stop eating meat that way.

I think being a model for veganism/vegetarianism and educating others about the topic does more in the long run for reducing animal suffering than raiding one slaughterhouse. If I raid a slaughterhouse and am caught, then I could be penalized or jailed. I'd rather be free and able to influence others to be vegetarian (which I have already done).

If I were to see someone try that to my slaughter house I would shoot them. You may think that it is noble but it is just plain illegal and cowardly.
Edit
It is that type of thinking that has caused so much backlash against honest people trying to improve the situation.
